2013 JKU engine rattles on startup

Searched the forum , didnt see anything . My 2013 JKU sounds weird on startup , like its low on oil almost , like a dry start . I use Mobil 1 Synthetic and factory filters , and i change oil every 5k miles . Bugs the crap outta me .
Anyone else ? Or point me to a thread if there is one . Many thanks .

My 2013 JKU does the same thing. Bought it used about 2 months ago and it has about 13,100 miles on it. It only does this when it sits a few days without being used. Hopefully someone can chime in if this is an issue that needs to be addressed by the dealer or a common issue with the 3.6.

My 2007 does it still at 110000 miles. Im pretty sure Mine is a heat shield vibrating and only does it for about 5-10 seconds after cold startup. I quit worrying about it long ago!

Mine does it as well if it's cold outside! Pushing 100k miles and still running strong! (well as strong as a minivan can run )

Every jk I've seen or heard about does it on cold startup, like the old fords use to do just not nearly as bad.

Check to see if there is an extended, (large capacity ) oil filter on it. I had the same problem when I installed a larger capacity oil filter on my 2009 Rubi and took it to the dealer and they told me to put a regular size filter back on. I went to NAPA and bought a standard size WIX Gold filter and installed it and the problem went away.

This is normal on this engine. My 2012 JK, my wifes 2011 Grand Cherokee and my 14' all do it.

A little clatter and possibly injector noise is always normal at startup. Every vehicle I have ever owned did it to some extent.
As long as it goes away in a few seconds, it's nothing to worry about.
A sure fire fix is to keep the radio turned up when you shut off the Jeep. That will quiet it right down at startup.

Yep, both my 3.6's (JK and WK2) do it. It's the lifters clattering until oil pumps up into them. No big deal.
