2013 dashboard below tray removal HELP!

2013 dashboard below tray removal HELP!

The tray just comes out but below it is a plastic section with a screw in it. Is the plastic section removable if the screw is removed. Don't want to remove the screw until I know if the piece is removable. Why is it made to come out? Thanks Ron

In my 2010 that's where the compass sits. One screw holds it on to the bottom of the tray.

The section with the dash tray (the top one next to the front windshield) consists of the upper left half of the dash above the steering wheel including the gauge cluster and about half of the center section around the radio and down a bit more.

To remove it you must remove the screw in the top tray and then pop out the center console switch pod, remove it and remove the one screw there. Next you need to pop off the panel just below the steering wheel and there are two screws to remove, one on either side of the steering wheel.

Now lower the steering wheel down all the way. Next is the scary part if this is your first time removing interior panels. You need to grab the panel section that you just unscrewed and give it a firm jerk towards you to release the trim hooks. It might take a few tries until you figure out how much force it actually takes.
:cheers2:

Do you have a pic showing the set up. Thanks for the info that might work if I make a bracket. Ron
