But anyway I would like to discuss this issue and maybe it will help. One thing for sure is that you can't break what you don't know is coming.

For those with the Iphone 4s, SIRI will not work with the Uconnect system after this update. The reason is the Chrysler had some features changed. (1 of these features Apple rode on to support SIRI) These features were changed in late 2010 and the SW was tested on the phones that were available at that time. The SW was again tested in June of 2011 again with more phones that were available at that time. Chrysler ok'd the SW at that time to start the production of the Uconnect modules. Most of the phone manufactures have and NDA ( this is a legal document known as a "Non Disclosure Application") signed by the suppliers and the phone manufacturer. They will sometime send new prototypes to be tested by the Uconnect supplier. If there are issues, then they both work together to find the fix. Apple does not do this at all, so the only Apple products that can be tested while the Supplier is writing the SW is with the device and its SW that is available at that time. Apple did not come out with the Iphone 4s until October of 2011 which was after the Uconnect modules were built and started to be shipped.
You may ask, "well why did it work in my 2011 or my V1 2012 vehicle. The features & SW were still being worked on for the 2012 vehicles and were not ready to be built for the V1 2012 vehicles, so the V1 was still using the features of the 2011 Uconnect system and the real 2012 Uconnect SW came into play with the V2 vehicle builds. Apple has been notified of this issue more than 4 months ago, so now it's a waiting game to see what they do now.
So - this is a little confusing. I have a 4S and the v.1 /12 Uconnect in my November produced '12 Sahara. I have been using the "Voice Command" all along with mixed results, but mostly good. "Call so and so - mobile", "Dial XXX-XXX-XXXX" etc. But that's not SIRI, that's the Uconnect Voice Command interface.

How WOULD I try to interface with actual SIRI via the Uconnect system?

Did they fix the bug where the radio stops randomizing HD tracks while viewing Navigation? That crap is annoying.

1) Verify you can hear your phone dialing over the Jeep's speakers (verify phone is connected via BT)
2) Turn on radio or SAT
3) Press and hold the iPhone 4S Home button to activate Siri (same as you normally would)
4) Speak to Siri

When Siri interface slides up on iPhone's screen, does the music mute? Can Siri hear you, can you hear her? If so, you're set. You can compose messages, etc by speaking to Siri using the Jeep's mic and speakers.

If the Siri interface appears but cannot hear or be heard, if the music just keeps playing, you're out of luck.

Well, that wouldn't be a Uconnect related issue, it would be the radio itself. Which radio is doing this and what is the SW version of the radio.

I just had the most recent flash done to my 2012 JKUR and what a big mistake.

I took it in initially to resolve the bluetooth audio streaming quality, knowing full well SIRI would not function.

However, the new update has rendered UConnect completely useless.

I've lost all ability to listen to VM's via bluetooth and Voice Recognition is a complete disaster. I can't get UConnect to understand simple commands like "Call".

If you're thinking about doing it, well just don't unless you want to get bent over by Chrysler.

Sorry for the late response, but I totally spaced this thread. I've got the RHR and it's running 2.120.

Basically what happens is at some point, the unit will stop randomizing files and just play them sequentially, but only while displaying the nav map in full screen mode. Whenever this issue occurs, I can hit the Radio Media button (and subsequently jump back to the nav screen) and it'll start randomizing as it should. Eventually, though, I'll have to go through the process again. I can't imagine it being a hardware issue, so I wonder if it's a bug or some meta data (or a filename) of one of the MP3's the unit doesn't like.

It will not do this if I'm viewing the play controls with the nav map. It's weird.

It's not a huge deal, but the RER in my previous JK never did this.

All of the features that you have listed are operated the same as SIRI by APPLE. In each of them APPLE simulates a phone call to your voice mail. The problem with how they are doing that is:
If you are performing any of those features (including SIRI) and you have an incoming call, the phone doesn't send Uconnect the supported message to answer the call. If you tried to answer it using the Uconnect button, then Apple ends the SIRI or the other used feature call and sends the incoming call to your voice mail. Chrysler decided that the incoming call would be more important than listening to SIRI, Visual voice mail, voice messages etc.
When the incoming call gets transferred to the phone and you can't take the call because the caller is now in you VM box, You might still be upset,, especially when you try to immediately make a call from Uconnect and can't till the phone connects back to Uconnect.
So it's really not getting "bent over" by Chrysler but instead being helped by not having to go thru the anger and frustration of not being able to accept an incoming call.
On the other note of not being able to use Voice commands, it may not have been explained to you that a set of the commands have changed, Those commands include "call & dial".
If you are calling by name, the command is EX: Call Kenny,
If you are calling by digits, the command is EX: dial 310-555-1212

Erm, still works with my 4S, no other devices to try · Increased iPod and iPhone compatibility.
Not tried, but not hopeful · SMS messaging support via MAP protocol (not all phones support the MAP protocol).
Not tried · Added “None of These” and “Correction” to the phone book prompt menu for better handling of similar names.
Confirmed · Previous button will return the song currently being played to the beginning of the track.
Confirmed · AirPlay feature “Dock Connector” no longer needs to be manually selected on Apple devices. This will resolve the “No Audio” condition when the device is connected to the remote USB port and dock connector is not selected.
Can you check the build # and post?

what "build #" are you referring to? The number that you have listed (2.120) is the SW version on the Harman radio 730 series.
The feature list that you quoted from mrfish is from the external uconnect module used with the Mitsubishi radios. In that case, the SW version of the external Uconnect module is 63.2.48.

Any new info on an update for the RHR radio? Based on the first post, this update doesn't apply to the RHR. I went to the dealer today excited to get my UC module updated and after waiting 2 hours, they told me that an update was not yet available but that they were aware of the issues.

Thanks for bringing this up. My 1996 Sony 10 disk cd player played random tracks better than my 2012 730N RHR.

Haven't heard a certain date, just that it should be soon. (but who know what they consider "soon" to be)

Question

Do you know if this update will fix issue with uconnect not returning to last mode it was playing on engine restart. When I shut down the engine and restart my system defaults back to the Satelite radio instead of the last mode it was playing
