2012 Pentastar Jeep

Does anyone know of the expected proces of the 2012 Pentstar Wranglers. I know i just bough a 2011 but with the crappy motor that is in it it looks like i might have to trade up for the 2012...

What if ?

Assume the 2012's come with the Pentastar and it turns out to be not as good as anticipated; imagine everyone sitting on the fence making a run on snatching up all the 2011's the dealers have...

So is the Pentastar better than the 3.8?
How much longer until it comes out?
Anyone know what the specs are between them?
Should I wait until it comes out or should I buy now?
What would you do, wait or just get the 3.8?
Will my Jeep be dangerous to drive with the more powerful Pentastar?
How about gas mileage?
Will the oil filter still be round?
I just put in heated seats, is it worth it to trade up?

Seriously, the pentastar is going to spin bearings and have terrible reliability problems in general the first year so why sweat it?

Just kidding, but kind of not... who knows how this engine will really perform, and how it will perform mated to the JK at that? What if the increased HP/TQ is too much for the trans, TC, Diffs, etc... when pushed offroad? I'd rather KNOW the combo is going to work... minivan engine is just fine for me I buy a Jeep to have fun, not to hotrod... regearing takes care of most "power" issues folks have... It's a Jeep... jebus...

They already tout the fully submersible, fully electric Jeep at Euro auto shows. Will they solve the 65-year-old oil leak issue before we destroy the water, too?

Why not just keep your 2011 and swap in the new engine? I know its not a hemi/V8 install, but it will have to be cheaper. May even be a direct bolt-in?? Just my thoughts about the whole penstar engine debate.

The 3.8 is a long tested motor. What hurts the performance is the tranny(auto) and gears!!! What more could you want for simplicity?? (pushrod motor)

If they brought there diesel here to the states, then i would have my ears perked up. The new pentastar sounds nice, but usually the first couple of years are growing pains with issues.

I would not run back to the dealer to gain another 60 horsepower. Im sure the price will go up with the new motor
