2007 Rubicon Dana 44 need additive???

Does the Dana 44 on the rubicons need to have the additive with the oil when you change the diff oil? I cannot remember. I believe it does, but i wanted to make sure.

nope, only limited slips do because they need to have the added friction or they wont engage.

Cut and past from my 2007 wrangler service manual.

CHASSIS Component
Fluid, Lubricant, or Genuine Part

Automatic Transmission
MoparŽ ATF+4 Automatic Transmission Fluid

Manual Transmission
MoparŽ Manual Transmission Lubricant or equivalent (meeting the requirements of DaimlerChrysler Material Standard MS-9224)

Transfer Case
MoparŽ ATF+4 Automatic Transmission Fluid or equivalent.

Axle Differential (Front)
MoparŽ Gear & Axle Lubricant (SAE 80W-90) (API GL-5) or equivalent.

Axle Differential (Rear)
198 RBI (Model 35) and 226 RBI (Model 44) - MoparŽ Gear & Axle Lubricant (SAE 80W-90) (API GL-5) or equivalent. For trailer towing, use MoparŽ Synthetic Gear & Axle Lubricant (SAE 75W-140) or equivalent. Models equipped with Trac-Lok require an additive.

Brake Master Cylinder
MoparŽ DOT 3 Brake Fluid, SAE J1703 should be used. If DOT 3, SAE J1703 brake fluid is not available, then DOT 4 is acceptable. Use only recommended brake fluids.

Power Steering Reservoir
MoparŽ ATF+4 Automatic Transmission Fluid

oops I added some.... You think it will matter? It is only like 5-7 ounces or so.

Changed the fluid in my Dana 44 I added some of the additive, the parts store pulled up some specs which said I needed to add 4oz or so hopefully it does not hurt anything
