'14 Rubicon check engine light

13k miles and the ck engine light has come on twice now, #5 cylinder misfire. Dealership cleared it both times they said needed updated software and/or new valve cover (service bulletin). Anyone hear of this?

Did they fix the issue or has it returned?

I have not seen a post of this issue since the 012-13 bad heads, many threads on that. jeep even extended warranties on the left heads. Though yours is the right bank.

I did not know the 14 engine was different than 12/13? Just curious about this. I know the 12/13 heads (and thus manifolds) had issues on the left side. Was this somehow corrected in later versions? Just trying to increase my knowledge base...

3.6 started with the '12s.

Not sure. I haven't heard of that issue past the '12 - '13 model years. The head that was replaced was on the drivers side.
