14.1mpg on 80 mile hwy trip. Sound right?

2012 Unlimited Sahara:

Reset EVIC fuel info right before I set off on an 80 mile (all Highway) trip. Cruise was set at 68mph, windows rolled up, no a/c or heat blowing, just me in the vehicle and I only averaged 14.1 mpg. I did have a 10mph crosswind to deal with as well.
Running ProComp LT285/75/R-16, Radial Xtreme A/T Tire w/ 2.5 inch lift, stock drive train..

Thoughts?

Did you recalibrate for your 285's?

What gear ratio are you running?

Have not recalibrated yet. Will do so soon. Don't have the gear ratio numbers. Any way to tell from the VIN?

Your speedometer, Odometer, trip, and MPG/fuel Economy gauge are not reading correctly.


Your gear ratio needs to match you tire size and speed.

i did the same recalibration and went from 12.5 to 18 switching from 33" tires to 35s. it makes a difference

That and you should really only trust a mileage check if done both ways.
