Is it a 07,08,09, or 2010 Wrangler?

When I was a kid, I and my buddies would entertain ourselves by looking at the cars going by and calling out the make, model, year, various engine options, etc.
Is there a way to tell the different years a wrangler has? CJ, TJ, and JK are easy, but what about identifying different years when it comes to the JK. Is it a 2007,2008, 2009, or 2010? Are there any identifying body clues that allow you to spot the different JK years?
Thanks

well I guess its possible to tell a 10 cause they will say sport instead of X and they all have the tow hooks and fog lamps in the front and they moved the rear tow hook to the side... But other than that I really dont know... I guess they 07's could be told by their axles but that would not be possible with them just driving by... There really is no way to tell.

Edit: You left out LJ, and YJ btw... lol

The other little complication in this game is the plethora of options from the manufacturer in addition to the plethora of aftermarket options and upgrades. Unlike almost any other vehicle made, to use a single indicating tell of a Wrangler's lineage would seem virtually impossible. But it does seem like an interesting and challenging game, worthy of a long road trip!

Colors can get you close, I know that "Rescue Green" was only available on the 08-09 models! It has since come back for the "Mountain Edition" but the 2010's have other differences that have already been mentioned.
I'm sure someone else could list the recognizable color/year availability!

Sorry to correct, but rescue green was '07-'08, then it came back for '10 as you mentioned.

Didn't the 09's have that aluminum plate between the bumperetts on the front and rear ? And my 07' Rubi never came with a rear recovery hook or that tire monitor or the oil change check light .

The chrome bumper accents to my knowledge aren't model year specific but rather simply indicative of the Sahara edition.

The chrome bumper accents did not start until 2008, they did not come on 2007s. Though like you said, they are not all models, the rubicon never came with it any year. However in 2007 no options had them, ugly anyway.

And I get the impression you and I are the only two who own that color! It seems the least common color I see.
