I work odd hours, it means I get to deal with idiots rushing to work while going home. I have nothing but time on my hands, tailgate me and we're gonna do 40 in a 55 keep it up and we'll go slower. Its a speed limit, not a Speed minimum.
I don't brake check people, I don't want to risk their in-abilty to stop and total my rig. I hate maryland drivers, they are pretty much all <censored>.

What, me worry?

Good to know that's what I have to look forward to when I move down there in the next year.
As for NJ, they all drive like **** too. Between the New Yorkers doing 90 while yapping on their phones and the old fogies who couldn't find their gas pedal if you glued their foot to it, it's amazing they bother to post a speed limit at all! :

Usually people dont tailgate me cause I get outta the way before they get that close. But if someone is gonna be a moron about it i usually just take my left foot with the gas still applied, and tap the brake a few times. And if that dont work **** em. When i get over ill get over. Theyll get over it.

This is in the same vein but a little bit of the opposite...
I was driving south on 95 with my significant other during a snow storm (highway was just wet, but still...) As I'm being passed by a line of cars (mind you this is a 2-lane highway) a college kid was getting on the highway on my right. I'm doing exactly the speed limit as we approached Bangor. I usually move over for people getting on the highway, just as a courtesy but seeing as I was being passed by people, I couldn't do that without cutting someone off. The kid getting on the highway proceeds to speed up to match my speed, then continues driving in the breakdown lane, well after the onramp ended. He continued driving in the breakdown lane, honking at me and flipping us off. I chuckled and maintained my speed.... he's got the yield anyway! Well, he finally speeds up (guess he forgot his car came with the fancy invention called brakes since he isn't restricted by local laws such as yielding into traffic at an onramp) and gets in front of me, then proceeds to slow down to TWENTY mph... I put all my lights on (couple sets of fogs and my high beams) and honk at him. Again, I would pass but now people are passing us like we're standing still... it's a 65mph zone. he brakechecks me and I lock up my tires which, with 12.5" wide makes one hell of a loud racket. He finally speeds back up to highway speed after playing this antic for about a mile. Talk about trying to cause an accident. The best part of all is, we had a kayak on the roof. I was praying that the ratchestraps would let go and the kayak would shoot through his back window when he brakechecked me. Here in Maine, they changed the laws so if you brakecheck people, it's flagged as reckless driving and intent to cause an accident (or something to that effect). He would have had a good time explaining to the officer why he was driving south with a kayak sticking out the back window of his little bmw.

But , I do have issues with them being Improperly adjusted. Everyday I face oncoming people using their "Driving Lights" that are improperly adjusted, blinding me in my lane. I take the time necessary to adjust my lights, and use then in the proper place. ie: out in the low to non existent lighting in the back country, or rural roads. But I do turn them off when I see oncoming traffic, because of a Courtesy to Oncoming Traffic. The need to use them in developed, suburbs, or inter-urban areas is ridiculous IHMO, but again it is my humble opinion nothing more. It's how I was raised... Respect Others Rights, and Right to their Opinion I also agree about the spread of Disinformation, there is no need to post unless you can site all the proper codes. Remember there's no need to piss through the keyboard, it's the internet, not a UFC match. Keep the rubber side down ![]() Ron

I was heading back to collage going up I-75. I’m in the right lane in my 86 CJ& doing 70 which is pushing it pretty hard. This little Honda civic ricer came flying up and road my a** for a while. There was very light traffic it was 1am. The civic stayed on my *** and then started flashing me. This really pissed me off. So I used a trick my buddy taught me I held up 2 1 ½” ball bearings so the civic could see them (bikini top on). Stilled kept right on so I reached back in my center counsel opened a bag that had big marshmallow in it. And tossed 2 of em’ toward the back of the jeep that worked.
My brother is a voluntary firefighter and he has strobes in his head and tail lights. He also has a light bar with 2 red lights that stick to the windshield. He will slow down and pull over let them pass. Then he clicks on the light and speeds up. They pull over and stop its funny when we drive by them. |
