I pulled out my buddies ZJ, and his buddies 99 grocery getter blazer (it was stuck on wet grass, seriously) even after he was talking all kinds of sh*t about my ZJ (my 5.2 was a piece of sh*t and his blazer was just stuck because the tires were bald... riiiight..... so i drug him down a path while he was in 4wd trying to escape haha) and a few other chevys, mostly all blazers.

This is right after I pulled him out. His rear tires had broken through ice at the edge of a pond and his traction control wouldn't let his front tires get any power.

over the last 2.5 years my tj has pulled every thing, long pulls out of the woods or all the way home: cucv's(2), fullsize chebbys(5)(one 5 miles thru hard trails no power) lifted ranger(same truck twice, out of the woods and all the way home)a yote on 40s hydrolocked(all the way home uphill in the snow no kiddin)couple big broncos, and one yj with electrical problem we couldnt fix in the woods. easily 50 really hard extractions using straps and brutal yanking. and countless little tuggs from holes or up nasty hills ect. the harbor crap winch has been put thru hell too and still gets the job done, I get stuck too but ive been lucky, usually a good tug from a buddy or deploying the winch gets me out, 3 front axel shafts broke, throwout bearing grenaded, torn off control arms and mounts, busted u joints and ive always left the trail and made it home under my own power. all with a 4 banger tj 5 speed built on a tight budget and wheeled every weekend for over 2 years. evry u joint has been replaced twice, two clutches(always the throwout bearing) couple alternators killed by mud,2 sets of unit bearings(chineese) and some assorted little things but shes always ready to battle the trails by the next weekend. jeeps are tough machines!!

The XJ so far has only pulled a Durango slightly up a hill. I was doing road side assistance and had to change a tire on the Durango, which also had an electrical problem preventing it from starting. My wheel chocks would not have held the Durango as it was facing down about a 10% grade. So I hooked up the tow strap between the hitches, took all the slack up in the Durango's drivetrain and set the XJ in Park.
With the ZJ I did a few snow extractions, nothing a 2WD truck couldn't have done. Prior vehicles I've done some stupidly amazing recoveries with. But this is Jeep forum.

A Big Ram 1500 sport who though he would be pulling me out of things, but he was sorely mistaken.
Thank you low end torque.

about 2 months ago i came across a f250 4 door 4x4 with 2 broke drive shafts pulling a dual axle trailor with a ford ranger with military axles on it on the trailor..the one on the trailor was broke also..they just left the mud bogs and broke down in a flat sandy area..i laughed at the guy and said i wouldnt budge that much weight with my jeep..but i said id try lol..
we hooked up about 250 ft of straps to get me in the weeds for traction and low and behold if i didnt pull him right out like nothing..i was in reverse as i knew it would only help matters but i was amazed..totally amazed that i didnt snap the turdy 5 too lol.. ![]()

Be careful pulling in reverse, the coast side of the ring and pinions are not as strong as the drive side.

A stock TJ after he found a hole in the trail. With open diffs and no real weight on the left front, he couldn't get himself out.

mainly ive pulled out other jeeps, cherokees and wranglers. But couple times ive had to pull my friends chevy pickup out. It bent my frame a bit, but i got him out. Also some cars when they slide off the road whenever it snows....like once every 5 years
