Sedan in a cowfield

So a guy shows up at my house and tells us that hes stuck and saw the jeep and wanted to know if we could pull him out...turns out he tried to follow a trail that used to be a dirt road which leads to powerline and atv trails...it is usually flooded at parts and is used by cows, atvs, and hunters. thats it. but this guy decided to follow his out of date gps into a dirt path through a foot+ of snow through the middle of a cow field leading into the woods in his 2wd sedan...to deliver phone books. needless to say, he didnt make it very far.

GPS led me to a dirt road a day after buying my Jeep. It was a shortcut from the auto salvage lot to the previous owners house (he had missed a signature on the title). Road started smooth, turned muddy, then into a bit of a climb where I got stuck.

Similar story when I was first learning to drive. It was May in Wyoming, and with my brother and dad in a pickup with me, were headed into the mountains to camp along a dirt road that was closed in the winter. We were pretty far back when we came across a two-wheel drive car that was stuck on a turn that had attempted to drive through a snow bank that only a 4x4 would have made it through. There was a woman driving the car, out of state plates, and she looked like she was missing a few screws and was confused about where she was going?

Unfortunately her car was blocking the road as she as buried in the snow as she had attempted to ram the snow bank. So we just gave her a ride back to the closest town to get a tow truck up there, and went and camped elsewhere.

If we hadn't had found her, who knows what would have happened? Few people ever drove up there, and certainly at that time of the year.
