I flew from Alaska to Virginia to pick up the jeep I bought and drove it back to Alaska in January 2007 (lots of ice and snow along the way). That was about 10,000 miles round-trip.

I took my scooter on a 17,000 mile trip from Alaska to Mexico to upper Quebec and back.

In 1996 I drove an 87 YJ from Bangor, ME down to Dallas, TX, then to Farmington, NM, then out to Carson City, NV. I used to work short contracts form 3 to 6 months at a time in different locations. After Carson City, I returned to Maine. No problems the whole way except for one speeding ticket (must have been downhill with the wind behind me) on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia. I think it was 70 in a 55 zone.

Then in 2002 I drove from Maine to Greeley, CO, then back to New Hampshire, then to California, then back to Maine again. This time in a 2000 TJ sport.

I love driving my Jeep

Just think how much wealthier I'd be if I drove something that got 30 mpg? LOL

3 years ago I drove from Michigan and all over the west: Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, Idaho, Washington, and Oregon. In 3.5 weeks I drove about 6,500 miles after starting out at 185,000 or so.

Just last week I drove from Michigan to Yellowstone and surrounding area. The total mileage was about 3,600, and I am now at 252,000 miles.

Took a 600 mile round trip from Virginia Beach to Audubon NJ in my TJ and a 1000 mile trip from Pensacola Fl to Virginia beach in my XJ. Both were great trips.

I did the same thing between finishing college and starting real life. It took me 2.5 Months and 11975.0 miles per trip odometer. Spent the weekdays hitting up national parks/forests and weekends visiting friends/family in various cities. I tried to avoid most of the major highways and took 90% state/county roads.

Also hit up many trails along the way O||||||O

This is not the exact route but close:
