I'm still considered a newbie seeing as how I got my Liberty May 20th, 2008. But it amazes me how strong of a following Jeeps has.

Not too long ago, as I was starting my jeep up and was about to drive, a person with a jeep waved at me, of course I did the same back. To me, it feels as if I know and somehow connected with people who own jeeps. Which is why I call them fellow Jeepsmen. (Yes, it's corny.)

I once broke a weld on my ladder bar on the rear of an SOA CJ. I was on the side of the road under the Jeep when a Wrangler stopped. He let me borrow a crescent wrench and I pulled the bar off so I could drive home.

A month or so back I spied a dead Waggy on the side of a road. He had his hood up. I stopped but some guy in a toyota truck was already going to get him some gas. So I just hung out till the Toyota came back. I said something like "I had to stop for a fellow Jeeper". The Toyo guy says "I need to get a Jeep".

But I don't wave at Jeeps and I never see anyone else do that either. Must not be a Colorado thing. There are probably too many Jeeps here to even think about a Jeep being unusual.

Here in Connecticut all the jeepers wave but the ones least likely are the Grand Cherokee's or the commanders.

I went from a TJ that got a few waves to a lifted WJ and I don't get as many now....even though my Jeep is more capable than my TJ was with bigger tires and more clearance. But most of that is cancelled out by the higher center of gravity, weight, and the width of not fitting down narrow trails as easily.

I'll help whomever out if it's safe to do so (especially if my family is with me). But I do feel more trustworthy of Jeepers than I do of some good ole boy stuck in a f150. I'm always under the impression that karma will come back to you some day!

Was gonna say, probably because they're everywhere there so you'd get Carpel Tunnel Syndrome from doing the Jeep wave so damn often.

I have not had the privilege of helping fellow jeepers. I have been helped, which I didn't expect. I was coming back from a party at my buddies. I stop a friend’s house to drop stuff off he forgot (2:30 am). I went to leave and CJ7’s batt was dead. We pushed if off and I started to head to the house to fix it. About 3 miles from the house she started spitting and losing power. So I pull in to a win dixie and pop the hood. Found out the batt was dead because the alt fuse was blow so now I’m screw (3:00am). So i proceeded to go to sleep in the back seat. About 10 mins later I heard another vehicle and then red and blue lights. After explaining the problem and that i didn’t want to leave the jeep here with no one around. The officer said "ok” and got in his Cherokee. I figured he was just going to leave (they are not allowed to pull or jump anybody). He pulled up in front of my CJ7 and backed up. He told me to hook up my tow bar (they come in handy) and towed it the other 3 miles to the house. I told him thanks and come to find out he is a fellow jeeper too.

Stuck on the side of the highway yesterday for about an hour and a half. Four people asked if I needed help...and none of them was one of the 15 or so wranglers that passed me by.

Jealousy........

driving home to georgia from alabama i passed another YJ hood popped on the side of the road so my buddy and I hopped off the next exit and circled back around to see if they needed help. and damn are we glad we did. couple of pretty good lookin girls that had run out of gas. said daddy was bringin them some but thanked us for stopping. i passed plenty of cars on the side of the highway that day, but i saw another jeep broken down and pulled off without a second thought.

I wasn't so lucky. the other day my cousin and I hit a little mudhole on the side of a side road. Paved, but somewhat out of the way. Well, the little mudhole turned out to be a very large hole with sheer rock sides, meaning my XJ dropped into a hole and could roll 3 feet back and forth, but nowhere else. Nothing to hook to either. We tried for 45 minutes to flag someone down, and was passed by a cherokee and two wranglers who didnt even look at us. Finally a 250 powerstroke passed us, turned around, dropped the boat he was towing right in the middle of the road, hooked my chain onto my tow bar and his tow bar, and yanked me out. Wouldnt take any money for it either. He just said that if I ever saw him stuck and didn't pull him out, his faith in jeep people would be ruined forever.
