Woman or Cell phones? Both, cause most women cant endure a few minutes without talking, so when they're driving, they gotta have a cell phone in their hand.
That's gotta suck I was rear-ended by a camry to but it was a guy here in MO. I hate women on cell phones they are stupid. Though in a case like that I usually try and if at all possible pull onto the shoulder half way or as far over as legally possible and stay that way till moving again. At night I also have my hazards on so people can be able to see me easier. Though I can't sypathize with you to much if you don't have insurance. You should always have insurance. I am guessing the beer was open or you are underage, so in that case you shouldn't have had it anyways.

Everyone makes mistakes just make sure you get insurance after this accident,
on a side note, if you can go ahead and get insurance, get a proof of insurance as well and tell the judge that you got ins. now...(although your late show the judge that you are correcting your mistakes)
Gotta love that "No Pay No Play" Law! I've been hit by other drivers in LA 6 times in my 25 years of driving. Only once did the other person have insurance
Sorry to kick a man while he's down, but uninsured drivers are the biggest reason why the rest of us have to pay so much for insurance. People need to understand that part of the cost of owning a car is insurance and if they can't swing the insurance then take the bus!
I clean up too many wrecks not to know how important insurance is. I have everything on my policy, uninsured motorist, GAP, towing, car rental, the works. I assume that if I'm going to be hit, it'll be by some numbnuts who will spend a grand on car stereo equipment before buying car insurance.
You can't have too much insurance. Three years ago my brother was hit and killed by an uninsured driver. Even though he was a pedestrian, and no vehicle I owned was involved in any way, my policy had a clause in it that covered anyone in my household for injuries or death resulting from a vehicle accident. The coverage was only $15k, enough to pay funeral expenses, but nothing near worth the cost of a life.

I agree that you need to have insurance. Even if just Liability to protect US while you drive around with your underage drunken buddies flashing the camera in your rearview mirror in middle of the night during a rainstorm on the highway Post up before you go out driving so we can stay off the road:thumbsup:
Well, about a month ago now, I was driving down I-12 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I was headed to the Rave Theater with a friend of mine. It was raining that night, so I was being cautious. Plus, I didn't want to get pulled over because of some alcohol I had in the vehicle.
The offramp that I was going to take was backed up for quite a ways (back onto the interstate). So I was at a dead stop on the interstate when a car narrowly missed me by nailing his brakes and swerving to the right. My buddy just got the words, "look at that!" out of his mouth when another car hit me from behind. She was going about 60mph.
It was quite a blow, snapped the rear axel, bent the frame... needless to say 3 of the 5 doors won't open. I had no insurance so I lose 10,000 of what the jeep was worth (Louisiana law). Also, I had to make repeated trips to a dense area to deposit a case worth of beer. I played it off like I was very mad.
The woman that hit me blamed it on her cell phone. She never even saw me till the last second when she jerked the steering wheel.
I'm not crazy and nothing against the fact that it was a woman driving on a cell phone. I would say this if it was a man driving on a cell phone too. I have insurance and I am about to say this.
I would get out of my jeep... Take the cell phone out of the persons hand and start cell phone whipping their head until they stop moving. What the fu_ck are you doing going 60 mph on an off ramp? 60 mph is over the speed limit on the HIGHWAY in Connecticut near when I live. Slow the fu_ck down! I am guessing it was dark out AND raining! Not to mention that talking on the cell phone is illegal in Connecticut as well. Blaming it on her cell phone is like a murderer blaming the crime on his gun or a rapist blaming the crime on his *****. Its just plain stupid. It makes me angry just thinking of blaming it on cell phone. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. May God have mercy on her sole. Just my opinion. :brickwall
If your insurance lapses in NY, your company immediately notifies the DMV electronically. If you don't show that you have insurance, your license is suspended. If you get insurance after you lapsed, you pay a fine plus around $8 a day for each day you weren't covered.
I'm pretty sure they suspend your vehicle registration as well. So if you get pulled over you are driving an unregistered, uninsured vehicle with no license. Car gets impounded and you go to jail.
Is it that easy to get by without insurance in other states?
Quoted for emphasis. This is one of the few things I actually *like* about NY and that's saying a lot. We actually have some pretty good motor vehical regs, and we enforce them. I'm a NY native but I've lived in several other states over the years. And several other states are so f-ing stupid and casual that I refuse to drive there.
Hit me while you are uninsured in a different state, and my lawyer will own your house. Along with everything else you've got.
.
In Pa your liscense wont be suspended unless its proven that you drove a vehicle knowing that it was uninsured. We have a 30 day grave period though so lets say I use ABC insurance company, that policy expired today, I know have 30 days to get a new policy with them or to get a policy with a new company. In the mean time I am not allowed to drive my vehicle on public roadways untill the new poicy starts. Also there is some PennDot from that I need notorized saying that yes I knew a lapse in insurance occured and that I did not drive my car while it was uninsured.
I have to agree with what the one guy before me said, I am firefighter I have seen some stupid **** when it comes to vehicle accidents (SF types in the military are the best at creating accidents) to not have insurance. I have a full plan now and when I am done modding my jeep I am gonna get a 50,000 plan on my Jeep so that way I can be able to replace it piece for piece should it ever get stolen or totaled. Besides if your under 18 and are stupid enough to have alcohol in the car do you really want to be adding more fuel to the fire for the cop by not having insurance too? I mean really you could be the best driver out there, but sooner or later someone is gonna hit you or you are gonna get stopped for something.
In the county where I live in TN you can go as long as you want without insurance until you get pulled over. As long as you get insurance before the court date and show proof in court and the judge will throw it out. The second time you lose your license for a year.
You should look into finding out whether or not talking on a cell phone while driving is illegal in LA. If you are really mad about the fact that this woman was on her phone, the fact that she was talking on the phone while she was driving is considered impaired driving.
Yeah, well the whole cell phone and women thing is pretty annoying, but I have seen men shaving in the car on their way to work...Tell me there is not something wrong here...I've seen men reading newspapers...
It's not just the women guys...Fess up too Sorry...Gotta stick up for the ladies
