Out here in the Texas hill country, if you are on a Ranch Road driving a pickup truck, chances are 50-50 somebody else in a pickup will give you a 'hi' sign - one or several fingers raised up from the steering wheel to say 'HOWDY' (rural Texas is pretty friendly.) To my utter surprise, driving my new-to-me 2006 Rubicon (but not the Liberty) has garnered a few waves from pickup trucks.
Anything lifted or modified I do the rock on sign and fist pump it! If its a ford.. I give them the "what the heck was that thing" look. And if its a cute soccer mom in a mini van, I give them the, yeah im over 18 look(; and occasional " sup head nod"
Your welcome lol
I wave at fellow jeep owners. I used to wave at camaro/firebird/vette owners in my camaro but they dont wave back ESP the vette owners so I stopped mustang owners get a thumbs down jst to provoke them lol

I wave at TJs, CJs, and YJs, but not at JK's, stocker mail jeeps or anything with steel wheels, or if they're yellow, that's a no wave right there. Also I don't wave at Jeeps if there's nobody in them.
In the summer I give the half-door-arm-hanging-out two finger wave. In the winter it's the knuckles-draped-over-the-steering-wheel hand salute.
I'm mostly kidding.
I normally get waves back, if not, who cares. It's no reason to stop waving.
I get the most waves when ever I am in PA near the Delaware river or in the Port Jervis side in NY same in the NJ area there. There are lots of jeeps and many of them are decently built up rigs all along the Delaware river gap area. I will say the worst wave returns are from the new JK owners, they just must be ignorant of the wave.
i drive a XK commander and i was driving down the highway. i look in my mirror and see what i think it is a CJ5. the guy pulls up next to me and gives me a wave. felt good to get a wave..thought id share
