Well, it was more of a Jeep "peace sign" wave, but non-the-less, I threw up my aloha wave in response. Surprisingly, it was the young lady in a yellow TJ (if I remember correctly) that initiated the wave.

I do the wave - I notice mostly only the guys wave back. A lot of the girls in this area seem to be snotty b#@^%#s! I don't think one girl has waved back to me (and I'm a chick too)! Though, I must admit most of the girls I have seen are prissy and don't look like they like to get dirty ya know? Not true Jeepers! But I wave at em anyway. I also notice the older guys in this area like to wave their whole arm around. Most of the "waves" in this area are a two or three finger lift wave.

I wave strictly at CJ's and Wranglers. I hate the ppl who just stare at you as you go by, as if you have an issue or something.

I wave to all jeeps but i notice no old people in stock jeeps wave back, i mostly look for modded jeeps to wave to because you know there looking for a wave and ready to aknowlege it

I waved when I first got the jeep but nobody waves up here. There are maybe 2 wranglers (YJ, TJ) that I get a wave from so that's all I wave to. Everyone else looks at me like I'm an idiot or they don't notice me cause they're on the phone. Grand Forks, ND is a "no-wave" zone.

I notice that I get a lot more waves when the top is off, and it's usually from other Jeepers with the top off as well. I guess we stand out more topless.

I never really got waved at being a Cherokee with only 3" of lift.

I drive a CJ7. I wave to CJ's and I return waves from other Jeepers. I have quit initiating the wave since guys in TJ/JK around here don't really return the wave, much less initiate them.

I usually just wave to any kind of a jeep that has a little mud on it or is lifted. Too many soccer moms and grandparents to wave at every jeep.

Long Island just isn't a good place for the wave. I've had my JK for a few months now and I wave at all wranglers, mods or not, and the rare lifted Cherokee. I have only gotten a few waves from the Jeepers around here. I went to a tournament in UMass to coach a youth lacrosse team and in that weekend alone I received more waves out of state than in LI, New York. On my way home from the gym today I saw three other JKs and waved to all of them. They gave nothing back.
