It's when you shake the front ending your Jeep so it looks like it is waving.

It's when you see a jeep and wave and to find out its a 60 year old day dreaming about coronation street and doesn't see you and doesn't wave back.

Or in my area the TJ and YJ guys that don't wave back.

Anyways. Don't forget to wave.

so many jeeps in our town you will have shoulder issues in a day. I tend to just wave at the "jeepers"/ club Jeeps

I waved to a nice Yota to day, I think the guy about had a heart attack, it was like no one ever gave him and his yota any love.

Jeep owners need to show some love! If you see another Jeep you should technically wave no matter what, just in case! A lot of times you come to find out its a 70 year old lady that couldn't see you if she tried, but nothing makes my day more than when a fellow Jeeper initiates the wave to me. To me its mostly about being friendly to those smart enough to buy a Jeep

70 year old lady

Hey watch it with the 70 year old cracks. Mom's 72/3 drives a 28' motorhome and pulls her 05 unlimited behind it. She will not dare take it off road though so I had to for her. But she did flip her last one I think she was about 65 then. Ended up in a creek upside down for about 30 to 45 min's before the Fire department got there to free her. I explained the jeep wave to her but I think she still does not do it.

I never wave at people in the morning lol I'll be honest at 7am the last thing I'm gonna do is look for jeeps to wave to but other then that I always wave...I never know if who to wave to lol I only wave to wranglers, unless someone waves to me first I feel stupid waving to someone and they don't wave back.

It's a jeep thing...you wouldn't understand :)

The Jeep Wave is purely about acknowledgement and recognition of each other as Jeep owners. Though your two Jeeps may have different build ups, it's that you "assume" each other shares a passion for improving and enjoying Jeeps. I will say it seems like JK owners tend to not wave. I believe it's that a lot of that crowd buys a JK for the look, not the functionality and off-road capability. Also, I've found when I wave at XJ/MJ/KK and other models they typically don't respond. It seems to be a Wrangler thing, unless the other models do it to each other, though I've never seen it. I seem to be saying a lot about it, but I don't think much about it and this is just my .02$.

Very true, it's only between wranglers here pretty much, I've been waved at by two huge Cherokees all the rest were wranglers, also "no offense" but it seems like a lot of JK owners were I'm from are kinda prissy like scared to get it dirty...

I had to explain the Jeep wave to my roommate the other day while we were in her Sahara; a guy waved at us as we were heading into the oceanfront and she wanted to know why I waved back. She asked if I do the Jeep wave when I'm in my XJ..of course I do; granted I don't get very many waves back when I'm in my Jeep. But I agree..it's about acknowledging a fellow Jeep owner and the vehicles that we love.
