I decided to take this trip 3 days prior to leaving, that is how I ended up spending a little too much on a hotel.
The cabins that Idahojeep stayed in seem like a really good deal, plus a couple of days of camping is always another option. I checked the cabins out on the way out of town and they seem like a good place to stay.

Hey Idaho! Great trip post and I will say again an amazing build! I lived in Denver for 8 years and hit Moab about 5-7 times a season for wheeling and mountain biking. We normally stayed south of town about 4 miles down 191 in rental condos. If you can split it up between a couple of families or few couples it's a bit cheaper by the bed than the in-town hotels. Swimming pools, plenty of parking and towards some of the more difficult trails (although more and more trails are popping up since leaving 4 years ago). Thanks for making me salivate for those trails again!

Ive always wanted to go to Moab.
Your trip actually makes me feel better about my Jeep lol. Most of the guys you were with had small lifts (i have a 2.5") and i was always under the impression that only the best and most built Jeeps can make it through the Moab trails. Hopefully Ill get out there someday, looked like an awesome trip and im really jealous of you lol. |

Thanks for the comments guys...
I will want to plan a trip for next Spring - perhaps right before EJS again. As that time gets closer maybe we could organize a larger group of us JF folks. Would be a lot of fun to Wheel with 8-10 guys. Bgoman, so much of it has to do with driving - if you have 2.5" of lift and some decent tires that you can air down to around 18 or so you can do most of the "difficult" trails (as rated by the wells book). You will use your skids some but thats what they are for... Some of the most difficult obstacles on certain trails can be avoided such as escalator on Hells Revenge. Start planning now - its a ton of fun, and great to meet and wheel with new people. Quote:

to you guys worried about not enough lift, tires etc,,,, do not worry!
you will have fun, once again the joy of Moab is 1) scenery and 2) trails that take up almost an entire day the traction is "sick" (trying hand at cool guy speak) so you can make a lot of climbs that you can't make in other environments |

Idaho and Cliff, if I can get my Jeep out there I will try some of the hard stuff (just don't like the hard long falls)
I would really like to try escalator and a few other trails, my paint is scratched and my fenders bent so I would like to try it. Plus I know you guys would tow me out if I really messed up! |
