At a little know place called "The Pitts" in Laural MD I saw a single engine prop plane make an emergency landing in a field. Both passengers were okay.

This was in the days before cell phone cameras so I don't have any pictures of it. I also don't know what happened to the plane because after the police showed up we all sort of scattered as it is technically not legal to ride there.

Well I guess I'll share my story. . . With video

While it’s not a Jeep, I was out riding my dirt bike in an area we jokingly named “Area 51”. Well I see this little black dot getting lower and lower to the ground, so I book it over there to see what it was. Turns out to be helicopter filled with military personnel. They looked to be in full gear, weapons and all. The chopper had no markings at all. It landed, then took off again, went over to another field and landed again, No idea what they were doing.

Just one of those cool encounters.

I lost the original copy of the video to a HDD crash so I'm stuck with Facebook.

Wow haha I have a feeling I know where you're talking about... on River Rd near where that small sand pit is before you come into Riverdale, but on the opposite side of the road? There used to be all kinds of junk cars up there - and some of them belonged to my dad. We actually just went to talk to them a couple months ago because my dad bought a 67 GTO and he had an old GTO when he was a kid that he junked out there and wanted to see if he could get parts off it if it was still there. Unfortunately (for us - good for the EPA lol) they cleaned up the property and most of the cars are gone now including his old GTO.

Go to centrailia for starters. I think it's SW of you. While youre there, you might as well hit Rausch creek

^ I just finished reading the entire thread there. At first I thought it was pretty good but then soon changed my mind to great. Before I got to the end I moved on to awesome and then fantastic. Embers of explorer burn not far beneath my surface but this thread just fanned them to a raging flame. At this point I think I'll have to scratch the itch.
Thanks for the pointer Mitch!
