couple of stuff ive found include:
caves
local satanists
dead animals, horses, cows, dogs without heads, deer
lots of cars shot up or burned down (mostly stolen)
strange lights in the night around the mountain i go wheeling to
people getting busy
abandoned houses in the middle of nowhere
house in the middle of nowhere with cars all around it and when i mean cars i mean like old 50 sedans with two underground buses located inside the house
and my favorite one of all, old indian ruins in the middle of nowhere, they call it "La Casa de la Bruja" or the witches house creepy as hell too, ill see if i can take some pics this weekend
Rumor has it that the guy that lived in the middle of nowhere was supposedly into bootleggin and had all his cash and liquor stashed inside those buses, the house as we speak is burned down, supposedly the mafia found out about this guy greased his family and burned the house inside with them, creepy place I swear if you go in the night you feel as if someone is watching you or is there with you...thats about it

This is an awesome thread. Took me a week of reading on lunch breaks, but hey it was worth it. Ive got a few stories, not super awesome but they happened while hiking Swope Park near Kansas city Missouri

I always hike with a crossbow, machete, and walking stick. Sometimes with an old .22 rifle, too. I found a guy who looked like he just stepped out of a rap music video. Saggy pants, gold chain, etc. just sitting out in the middle of the woods, smoking. No dirt or mud on him. Just chillin. Said hi and kept walking.

Found the stock to a rifle. Pulled on it, and out comes an AK variant. (ak47? Idk. Looked like one.) It had a clip in it, so me being the retard that I am, I pointed it and pulled the trigger. 5 shots and it jammed. Scared the **** out of me. Dropped it and ran. Never found it again.

Found a VW Bug. Rusted out and full of holes. No clue how it got there.

Small clump of pot plants.

Lawn mower blade stuck in a tree. Idk how that one happened. Not sure I wanna know.

Random redneck driving his tractor through the woods. He waved at me. I waved back.

Golf course. (Swope golf course)

Various homeless people.

Toilet (yes, I used it)

Any way that's all I got. Keep the awesome scary stories coming! I wish I had somewhere cool to explore in my jeep. KCMO isn't the best place for that, unfortunately.

I have seen VW Bugs in some amazing places! They are much more off road capable than you'd think.

Apparently. Either that or a huge multigenerational redneck joke.

Speaking of returning bikes. A Harley washed up recently in B.C............from Japan! Got pulled out during the tsunami and bobbed around the effing Pacific Ocean before washing up on the Canadian coast.

Of course, being a good Canuck......they reunited it with the owner
Ok can anyone explain how a big chunk of metal can float from Japan to the US?

Oh and Harley's new ads should mention their apparent amphibious capability.

I bet I know what was going through that HD's little bike mind...
"tsunamis? **** this I'm going home."

It was pretty mangled. Didn't they put it in a museum after the reunion? This thread is great btw.

If I remember correctly HD heard of it and are fully restoring the bike for the owner.

They offered to, but the owner wanted it in the HD museum as a memorial to the Tsunami victims. That's where it is now, in unrestored condition.

Found a cool mag light. 3D and LED. Black. Just sitting on the ground, turned on. No one around. Oh and I found a small nail someone lost. In my tire.

Sounds like I need to do more wheelin'. I've only found a .22 Ruger pistol rotted beyond repair, a few buck knives, garbage beyond belief, and once I found an old bush runway that led to a double wide right on the side of a mountain. Next to the double wide was an outhouse with fuzzy purple carpet on the interior. Looked like no one had been there in years.

Sounds like I need to do more wheelin'. That sounds like a totally badass outhouse.

I think the second night my son and I had our jeep we took it for a ride around Palos Verdes Penninsula with the top down. We got swooped on by a big grey owl. It came within 10' of us at a high rate of speed. That was about the last thing I expected to see in So California. My son said something like, 'I'm going to like this convertible jeep thing.'

Great idea on the thread by the way.
