Came across this the other day. An abandoned fire engine, miles out into the desert.

That would have to be one of the things that I would try my hardest to take home.

Report it to whom? The amazing thing is that nobody has vandalized or stripped it. It's been there for a while too. For some reason there's not a lot of looting out here. Here's a guy's camp which according to the calendar on the wall and some other papers found inside hasn't been occupied since 1994. And yet it's virtually unmolested.

We did some google research on the guy and found out he died just a couple of months ago, which leaves us wondering why he abandoned the place 16 years before his death and apparently never went back.

Looking out from the trailer. That's another abandoned camp not too far away.

I'd kill for an old gas pump like that.

The fire truck reminded me of this one I found in the woods near a place called Bartle in northern California several years ago. I presumed it belonged to some logging company that had been working in the area at some point.

This "walking stump" was located nearby:

Then there was this old logging truck somewhere near Fort Jones, California:

This "old woman rock" near Bray, California:

An old car my daughter posed by, also near Bray:

Good times.

The truck blew a fuel line on the carb, and caught fire with the owner and his son both still inside.. both men escaped without incident, but before they could get to the fire extinguisher the whole cab was fully engulfed in flames..

I helped the guys away from the truck, and put out the remaining flames, then the fire dept showed up but was unable to get past the trail head... and since my Xterra was the only vehicle not stuck I took 2 loads of firefighters and their gear back to the truck... then pulled out the 5 trucks and Jeep. The owners returned the next day with heavy recovery gear and a flatbed to get her home.. I was dating a girl who lived down the street from them... so I saw it in his driveway a couple days later.

Didnt really find anything unusual but what happend was.
I was walking through the mountains one day and came up on a old cemetary on top of a ridge. I had my brand new camera with me so I took some pics of it. After i left, the camera stopped working. It had new batteries and everything. When i got home and looked at the pics, every one of them from the cemetary had a hazy figure in it. This cemetary was a good hour drive into the mountains too.

Another way is to sit on the pot, reach down and grip the bowl with both hands, and push against the floor with your feet.
