New Mexico Driving Rules...

As a general rule, the vehicle most in need of a significant amount of bodywork (for which the driver is most likely uninsured) always has the right of way.
Never use directional signals when changing lanes. They only serve to give away your next move, causing most NM drivers to speed up and not let you in. In fact, use of directional signals within most large NM city limits is actual illegal.
NM law states that at least 50% of all paved surfaces within the state must be under construction at any one time. In all construction zones, at least half of the available lanes must be closed, regardless of whether any actual construction is be accomplished or not. Construction signs shall be regularly repositioned in order to warn drivers about upcoming lane closures immediately after they pass the last exit before traffic backups.

Driving through constructions zones with upcoming lane closures is a popular game in NM. It’s called the "speed up and pass as many cars as you can, then see how close to the lane closure you can squeeze back into traffic before hitting any of the orange construction barrels" game.
I walked into a clearing and could see the lights from town over the trees and if you look closely you can just see it in the pic.

I could re-tell the clichéd ghost story about picking up a girl and I looked over and she disappeared, or how I went wheeling and ended up in highly secure government property where signs say deadly force in authorized, but they just escorted me out 'cause they liked my Jeep, or the also overly clichéd story about the school bus of children that got stalled on railroad tracks or on a drawbridge and they got hit or fell in the ocean, and now if you park there and put baby powder on your bumper, they ghost children will push you uphill and leave fingerprints..

Dang, what a sentence.

I do wish there was an abandoned insane asylum or children's hospital or something around here. Anyone want to share something spooky/badass in SC?

Here's the best I have.
I was fishing with my dad when I was 10 or so. It was the dead of winter and we were out in the boat in our private pond, 5 miles from any houses (make that trailers) and inside a locked gate and fenced in 100 acres. Being winter, there were no leaves on the trees, so you could see into the woods around the pond pretty well.

We made it about halfway around the 25 acre pond, and I noticed my dad kept looking up in the woods. I figured he was just messing with me, trying to scare me. I kept fishing and he made a cast and got his lure stuck in a tree, all while watching up in the woods. He stood up in the boat to get untangled, and right then, I knew something was up. He never stood up in the little 10 foot jon boat for fear of flipping it. He got un-stuck and motored out from the bank pretty quickly.
He leaned over and whispered to me to look up in the woods. I still half thought he was BS'ing, but then I saw what he had been staring at. It was a "figure" 100 yards in the woods. I didn't know what it was at first, but when we motored down the bank a little, that figure turned to keep facing us, kinda swaying back and forth like it was shifting its weight from one leg to the other.

We were both freaked out. The only time someone trespassed on that land was to fish or hunt, not walk a mile and a half from the gate to stand in the woods and watch us fish in the dead of winter. When they get seen or hear someone coming, they hauled A off. This was different.

We parked the boat back at the boat house and drove around to the woods where we saw "it." We looked all around within 10 minutes of seeing the figure (with knives drawn, like that would do any good ) for a person or tracks or kicked up leaves or even a stump that could have looked like a person. Nothing. The wind picked up, gave me a chill, and we got out of there.

I don't know what it was, but I feel confident it wasn't a person trespassing..I get chills typing this right now. I don't know if I believe in ghosts or not, but that was freaky..no BS.

just gonna throw out my 2 cents. when the signs say deadly force authorized. they use deadly force only if they have to. they wont immediately shoot you for trespassing unless you appear to be a threat. just sayin lol
