oh yeah, a long time ago we found an old abandoned house also, it was 3 stories with a crawl space that had stairs going down from the kitchen, electricity as well as well as a bathroom had apparently been added, most of the first floor had collapsed but the staircase going up stairs was still together enough to get upstairs, kinda spooky as it hadn't seen much if any vandalism it appeared to just be due to time

wish i had some pictures of it, they tore it down when a subdivision went up nearby

Heh... well it's been over a year since we saw it down there, and who knows how long it was there before that. Not sure it would be worth saving at this point

Also, that place has been shut down for quite some time, the cops stake the place out and grab you before you even get in!

An old rotten railroad trestle out in the mountains nowhere near any present railroad tracks. Years ago there was a logging railroad in the area.

We have found old graveyards, cars, hermit camps, I guess the oddest was the off-road rally car in a ravine the night after a race in the Cherokee Nat'l forest. I wish I had all those Hella lights that thing had on its hood!

Yeah...my son was out wheeling with us one time a couple of years ago on New Year's Day. He found a wife. I didn't know it at the time, but I found a Grandson a couple of years later. That's the coolest thing I can remember.

Have come accross many shooting ranges or military bases and so on, that's nothing unusual...

Accidentally came accross a police base while night wheeling that we didn't know was there... I was diving once here and found part of a tombstone that had the british SAS insignia on it. The dagger and wings. I went back to the beach and found fragements of it over 5 hours. I pieced it back together and it was a warrent officer that was killed in 1958. I mailed the picture to SAS hereford england!

There is one i would like to investigate myself. In northern new mexico there is this mountain range above montezuma. Apparently this rich italian count lived there after he fled italy in the 1850s. His house is still up there, Hermits Peak, which id love to find. He ended up being murdered by the local plains indians after a trip down to santa fe.

Come out to the desert. You would be amazed how many graves and memorials are out in the mountains. Some folks have their ashes taken to favorite spots, and the family construct small memorials.
