Diesel Surprise

I was fueling up in Oregon the other day. They still require gas jockey's there to pump your gas, a state requirement. I pulled up to the pump and an energetic young man bounced over to the window and said, "Fill'er up? What'll it be?"

I replied, "Er, I'd like to try whatever it is that comes in that green hose. Is that a green energy thing?"

"You can't do that!", he said, that's diesel fuel.

I said, "I'd like to try it anyway, if it's green, it must be good for the environment."

"But your car has to be made for it to use diesel fuel.", he replied.

"That's OK" I said, "I'll try it anyway I'm only half empty. It should be alright."

At that he reluctantly opened that hatch door and saw the green fuel cap and started laughing.

He said, "You really got me that time. I've never seen a diesel Jeep before."

I love it when that happens.

Ha...got another one. Pulled into a station near Umatilla and the attendant ran up eager to serve. I said "filler er up...er...I'd like to try that stuff in the GREEN hose. Does that mean it burns cleaner?" He said, "Hey man, that's diesel...you don't wanna buy that in this rig." Then he opened the gas cap cover.... ha ha. Diesel Surprise!!!

You CAN pump your own Diesel and also gas into motorcycles--they changed the law that way 2 years ago!!!

I love it when they want a tip. I always fill up on the Indian reservations. There you pump your own gas and it is cheaper.
