So we tried to dig it out but it was not working and the truck was overheating from all the revving and not going anywhere so we had to stop. An hour later we started walking, it was getting dark by then. We had not walked 5 minuets when two wetbacks and a tractor came by. They had greasy hair and stunk like something really bad but I though they looked like angles. lol No idea what they were doing out there.
Two hours later we made it to the camp, had we walked it would have taken all night and into the morning. GO PREPARED!!!
Time for a winch.

When I was 16 I had a stock 1996 Silverado 1500 and decided to hit a trail that ends up going down powerlines, it was October in Maine and had been raining alot. We ended up getting stuck in ruts so big my frame was hung up and tires had no contact with anything. Started to rain and the ruts turned into streams so we had my friends dad come down with his 2012 stock Silverado 4x4. He got stuck before he got anywhere close. Then my friends uncle came in his 2010 Silverado z71 and failed to pull out the 2012. He ended up taking us all home, (its 8:30 pm by now) a local search and rescue unit got my friends dad's truck out the next day. I however had to wait 7 days and they turned the recovery of my truck into a training session. They had 2 Hummer H1s a lifted diesel excursion on 35s a lifted TJ on 35s a lifted bronco, a land rover, and a couple other rigs. I'll look into posting pictures

went exploring a side road with a buddy and his suburban. i took off hard into a hole and launched mud all over the front of his truck and sent a rock through his radiator. oops.
we were on a hunting trip one time and came upon a f150 buried in the ditch, pulled him out and got back in the jeep i told my dad "watch this" as i proceeded to attempt to drive through the same spot this guy was stuck. and got stuck even worse...

Not off road but very embarrasding none the less!

So I bought a Jeep wj Grand Cherokee. 4.0l in red. Things a beauty. It was cheap due to a dodgy LPG setup. Having fixed this I then started getting battery drain while car was parked. So I started testing and found its pulling like 1.6 amps. So I start pulling fuses and relays but for the life of me I can't find any one obvious drain. In fact the whole car seems to be eating power. So I pull the alternator leads. Still drawing current... So i bite the bullet and start pulling door cards. Can I find the issue? Can I hell! So this goes on and on for about 3 days solid with me removing more and more plastic. I'm so determined I am going to find this issue if it kills me!

I've now got a car with basically no interior at all. No seats, most of the dash is out, wheel and stalks all stripped, no door cards, boot doors all stripped and I've dropped some of the headliner. There HAS to be a short here somewhere.

Finally I'm at my wit's end. Defeated I sit in my now seatless cabin and pickup the only available reading material I can find. The owners handbook...

And there I spot the page on the ignition barrel.

Imagine you've always owned a European car where the key goes OFF-ACC-RUN-START and your fully used to turning the key all the way counter Clockwise and pulling it out. Now imagine you own a car where the barrel goes ACC-OFF-RUN-START and that said barrel is just worn enough to let you withdraw the key in the ACC position...... DOH!!!!!!!
