It definitely looks mild (compared to something like Rausch) but I think a nice weekend trip there for some camping, fishing, and kayaking or mountain biking (into both but would have to choose one or the other b/c I can't haul both with my JK at same time) might be in order.

All those activities, along with an offroad trail I can drive in the Jeep once or twice, might be a nice getaway and its basically on the PA state line (1.5-2 hour drive max for me).

EDIT: Forgot to add - the girl definitely looks happy so you are doing something right!
PM if interested to make it a day trip BBQ and stuff I am in Scranton PA.

Agreed - Rausch creek is the t*ts if you are looking for an off-road driving and camping only trip (thats why I love its only 30 minutes from me!! LOL) - but state forests such as this are kind of cool as they offer fishing, hiking, kayaking, and mountainbiking all within a close area - the 'forest fire road' trails are just a bonus in this case...

I'm glad you had a good time. I don't know anything about the area you were in, but do take these guys up on riding with them. It's really very advisable to have a buddy with you, in case something goes wrong.

Where is Alberta? Looks awesome in the pic

But there is really nothing nearby as far as accomodations; Hagerstown is the nearest large town (50+ miles), Cumberland/LaVale (20 miles) are smaller but kinda close. Hancock is a common meeting place at the Sheetz gas station to fuel up and meet up, but limited accomodations in town. Hancock is perhaps 30 miles from GR.

The nearest gas station is Orleans road coming from Baltimore, be sure to gas up, as it's about 10 miles from GR, which is off 15 mile creek.
I mean yea if you wanna camp on the trail it's decent but I would take RC over it too and I have yet to go there.

haha yea I try...going well so far

The trails are definitely mild compared to what I see from RC pictures but still a fun time for sure.

Definitely a nice drive compared to what I usually see driving around town

the mountain biking there is my next goal. I want to ride the trail and definitely need to see Rausch this winter with MJC

Yea I joined the Maryland Jeep Club and have been talking to a lot of the local guys and have already had an install day and meet up with one guy by me. I can't wait to get out to RC for a nice ride. The BB I just put on needs some use

Green ridge is a nice place check out my videos from there if you want an idea of what the trail looks like. It is mild but still lots of fun because of everything you can do there besides wheeling like camping fishing mountain bikeing and all the other things people mentioned.

Looks like there are enough of us interested in GreeneRidge that we could all get a fun day trip planned out of it, what do ya say fellas? My buddy and I like to head out there on occasion. He runs a bone stock KJ and makes it through with only a few belly bumps, and I enjoy puttin along in my TJ. Like everyone else says, makes for a good day trip.

I was just curious if you knew where the Jeep trails were in relation to the mountain biking trails?

Thanks,
Josh

Now I just need to go back again...and I am not sure about the other trails exactly but they give you a map at the front so I know it's on there
