Well you can camp along the trail. If that means anything. Im sure there are places to rent close to the area but i am not sure. Its really fun and relaxing even though its a mild trail. I think camping permits are like 10 bucks

Where in MD you live? Near Frederick? I enjoy Greenridge, let me know when you're heading up again.

Looks like you had a good time with the Jeep. Head up to Alberta some time, we got lots of trails from mild to wild and great views. Trails are free and plenty of free camping as well.

Honestly, Greenridge is a glorified fire road, but when as wet as it is after 3 inches of rain, it can be fun. I wouldn't bother getting a hotel room; if you're gonna drive 3 hours and pay to stay, go to Raush Creek in PA for more serious and varied offroad adventures. GR is a nice daytrip. But there is really nothing nearby as far as accomodations; Hagerstown is the nearest large town (50+ miles), Cumberland/LaVale (20 miles) are smaller but kinda close. Hancock is a common meeting place at the Sheetz gas station to fuel up and meet up, but limited accomodations in town. Hancock is perhaps 30 miles from GR.

The nearest gas station is Orleans road coming from Baltimore, be sure to gas up, as it's about 10 miles from GR, which is off 15 mile creek.

Is the "off-road vehicle trail" actually permit Jeeps/Trucks on it? Or just four-wheelers, etc. I am guessing it does or else you wouldn't have these pictures?

It definitely looks mild (compared to something like Rausch) but I think a nice weekend trip there for some camping, fishing, and kayaking or mountain biking (into both but would have to choose one or the other b/c I can't haul both with my JK at same time) might be in order.

All those activities, along with an offroad trail I can drive in the Jeep once or twice, might be a nice getaway and its basically on the PA state line (1.5-2 hour drive max for me).

EDIT: Forgot to add - the girl definitely looks happy so you are doing something right!

I know about Rausch Creek just looking for a nice day trip. You are right if there is nothing to see I can just take the drive spent the day and come back. I am not looking for wheeling trails there just some nice scenic stuff
