Aren't YJ axles shorter than TJ axles?

i know a guy bout a mile away that will weld on and fab brackets(if i didnt buy the kit) at a fairly good price. half the price of regearing and buying gears and a super 35 kit... i dont have the patience or time to regear..much less the tools... so id be paying for the labor also.. i have an 8.8 in the garage that is stripped down and ready to play with with 4:10s.. but i just though that this 8.8 30 combo might be a better solution seeing as its already regeared and locked with detroits
