they are stock, I lowered and moved out the lower mounts for the nearly 12" travel front shocks. moving them out a little kept them from hitting the frame fully articulated. the rear are 13"

got a little more mock up done today, The Van conversion is finally done and shipped out today, so I'll have more time for it...

The ford towers are a couple inches short of working with the 2.5" springs and rancho RS999012 13" travel shocks. I had originally made the lower mount so they would and decided they hung down to low. so I'm making them from plat steel.

And dont the lower control arm mounts hang down kinda low? Please dont get bent cause i asked, I dont really do rocks so i was just wondering?

Also how does the Lj handle on the road? or is this a trailer king only?

the lower CA mounts haven't been trimmed up yet.... they kinda won't be hanging down at all....

I'm pretty sure the rims are alcoa and are 15", Chuck had powdercoated. The handling is like a sports car even with the antirock in the soft setting, the LJ is actually more a pavement princess than anything, the only trailer it'll ever see is one in the rear view mirror... the build is specifically for ride quality and flexibility to do just about anything. It'll prolly mostly see snow and St. Helen's ash/sand for most of it's off road duties, the terrain is similiar to the sand dunes, so the long travel suspension will get a work out on occasion.

the Rubicon axles have ARB's and 5.38 gears, I put a kilby onboard air system w/2gallon tank, the rear has Superior EVO shafts and the front ended up with Longfields. It's an automatic so the .69 OD ratio allows the low R&P ratio. I'm still working CB3 over about a rubicrawler for the 2.73 ratio.

How much do the rear springs compress til they hit coil bind? It wont make it to full stuff with the springs in right?

YES, It will fully stuff with the coils installed, but it IS at full coil bind if both sides are compressed at the same time, when articulated it doesn't coil bind. Thats the whole reason I put the spings in the compressor, to make sure I diddn't need more than 1.5" bumpstop extension before I set the outboard shock mounts.

In all honesty, I should have went with 2" but with the use the jeep will see and having to compress some hard rubber bumpstop bumpers, it'll be just fine, My rancho springs have been getting over compressed since the day they were put on in 2003 and are still holding her up as high as they originally settled down to.

I got two words for you.....

show off.

This build looks great. Can't wait to see more.

Also, question for you Mudb8 - with all the custom out boarding of shocks and all have you ever built one with coil overs?

I check everything, never assume it'll work cuz it looks like it'll clear something, especially working with a track bar, things shift.

Yep, I've done forward mounted coilovers as well....
