Xenon Flat Flares Anyone?
I have been looking into getting flat fenders but I really do not want to go through all that hassle. So I have come across the xenon flat flares that give it a good flat fender look. I was just wondering if someone could post some pics of the flares on their jeep. Also how durable are these things and does the finish on it last or fade??

I was also thinking about flat fenders but after all the work I've done on the Jeep in the last 10 months I just didn't have the heart to do the full TnT fender thing and didn't want to cut my stockers. My Xenon flares got here yesterday and they look like they will do the trick nicely. They were nice and flexible even after sitting out all night at 5º F and it looks like they will give a bit more clearance.
Haven't had time to put them on yet however, probably next week. Some good discussion on flares including Xenon in this thread.

At some point I will also get highline/flat fenders but I bought the xenon flares for now. They are very flexible it seems like the bottom edges on the inside can be trimmed for even more clearance - I will get to that in the spring.

Hey opiv, nice looking rig, it was that picture and your profile (back when they worked) that sold me on the Xenons.
I also am planning on a set of TnT tube fenders but not 'till after a summer of wheeling with these, just can't face any more major surgery for now.

I wonder if I could just buy the rear.... They'd go nicely with some 6" tube fronts from PSC, TnT, etc

Thanks - you are going to like them. They were easy to install. Take your time mounting the turn signals into the flares - it is difficult to drill the mounting holes. Also make sure to wire up the turn signal lights before mounting the front flares. It makes it a lot easier to access the wiring that way so you can solder the connections behind the flares.
I am also thinking about getting the TnT fenders in the future. I would love to have some welding ability so I could make something similar to the TJ in this thread: http://www.virtualjeepclub.com/showthread.php?t=9371

i have them and they are great! sometimes i get tired of the look of em but i like em ultimately. only thing is i noticed that the wind pushes down on my passenger side flare....kinda warped it but it is barely noticable. so far i have had them for about 6 months and they are in prefect condition.

Could you or anyone else with these flares post some more pictures?? I really like the idea of not having to cut up the Jeep. I would just like a few more angles of how they look, and how small they'll make my 33s look when I get them...

very easy mod for DIY selfer.scribe the flares and cut with fine tooth bladed jigsaw.fine sand when you finish cuts. worst thing that can happen is you ruin the OEM's and replace w/ the $500 xenons.

The light on top of the tire carrier was very easy to mount. It is just a tractor light that has a bolt screwed into the antenna mount on top of my Currie tire carrier/bumper. I just had to widen the hole in the base of the tractor light mount for a wider bolt to pass through.
Here are a few more cellphone pictures. ![]() ![]()
