WTH is this little button for?

Okay there is a little metal button with a black plastic cap that is facing down next to the brake pedals... there are two wires connected to it that are connected to something up in the column i believe. I saw it today while looking up into the steering column... just wondering.

x2.

Or, snip the wires, see what stops happening, and you're set.

I'd say push it or cut the wires off.........

But your brake lights would stop working
