Yelling at it and it still wont come off. Any special trick to get it off there?

There is a gasket there. Probably RTV. Just pry it off.

What works good for me, is an old dull wood chisel. Tap it with a hammer and the wedgie part of the chisel will help pry the cover off. Move around the cover when you do this. Don't wail on the hammer and chisel, however. You don't want to make a big gouge in the face of the diff.

I used a putty knife and worked around the cover for the front and rear diffs. Didn't mar either surface. The front came off a lot easier after I loosened the bolt hiding behind a bar!

Leave the top bolt on but loose and hit it harder with a rubber maullet, unless it was glued on I don't think RTV is gona be tougher than that.
