wont go into 2nd gear

after i put on my suspension lift i was going to drive it out of the shop and the shifter boot restricted it from going into second gear.I had to take it off so it can go into second gear alright but still seems like the surrounding plastic is in the way.did i do something wrong? what can i do to fix it?

i could really use some help

I would guess the Bl is the problem and you need to bend the tub below the shift boot a little.T case drop will do the same thing.
p.s. Your post count is higher than Obama's stimulus package.

Pull the center console out, and bend the metal around the shifter hole. If it has been hitting, you should see where you need to make alterations.

i had the exact same problem after installing my 3.5RE lift. when you dropped the t-case it lowered the shifter. i just took the boot and plastic surround out of the console and left it as a hole. yeah i sometimes lose change to the black hole but whatever, it's a jeep, not a wallet. there's probably a few fries down there too. i'm planning on a jb ss/sye so i'll be able to bring the case back up soon enough and re-install the boot and plastic.

I get a similar issue in 2nd and 4th - pops out sometimes if I haven't slammed it into gear. Makes sense now.

You might also thinking about moving the center console back a little. And Boogie is right, WTF is up with your post count?
