Wiring a hitch

I Bought my first Wrangler three days ago, and made the first mod today, a receiver hitch. I read in another forum that you can't just wire it in to the existing lighting, but a special harness is available. Is this true...where can I get one...how much...and how difficult is it to wire in?

Here is an example of what you are looking for though its a 2007. You just need to look for a correct tj harness for your year.
I googled "jeep 7 way trailer tow harness"

Just go to your local Jeep Dealership and ask for the wiring, I did the same thing. It cost about $35 and was a simple install. The plug uses the existing wiring that is stored behind your passenger rear tire and simply just plugs in. It comes with all the necessary zip ties and replacement snaps.

Pricey

Yep that's it. I read Mopar was pricey but they could be found for around $20. I guess I just need the four way since I only pull a '10 foot trailor with a couple of dirt bikes. Thanks for the reply.

Yep I think mine is the 4 way mopar one too... It really is a simple install, I got fancy and drilled some holes to mount the bracket that comes with it to my bumper, but it is probably a 10 min job
