I would actually like to find one that is black and not diamond plate to hide the rust on my windshield. I guess maybe I could just make one.

Bought an 89 MJ at 16, sold it to get an 89 YJ, sold it to get an 02 TJ. Then sold the TJ, went two weeks and bought an 07 JK unlimited, bought a 97 TJ and sold it to a friend. Just Empty Every Pocket, I should have listened.

Besides hiding rust, does that thing have any purpose at all?

You could buy some metal, spray paint it black, and cut it to that simple rectangle shape pretty easily. I bet it would be cheaper than that and you'd have some extra scrap.

that is kind of what I was thinking. And no it serves no purpose other than hiding rust.

How bad is the rust? Sanding the rust off, priming, and paint that actual part of the windshield frame black would be a better option. That would stop the rust from growing.

Its eating away the bottom of the frame. I was planning on getting rid of all I could and killing the rest of the rust, priming and painting. Then putting on the cover to hide the hole. A lot cheaper than 400 for a new frame.
