Windshield Mounted light ??

I'm going to put on a pair of windshield mounted lights and want to use KC's. The two I'm looking at are the standard KC and the KC slimlight. Which one is the best choice for mounting on the windshield?

4wheeldrive hardware's catalog shows the slimlights (I think).

Thanks for your input/opinions!

Either one should mount without any issues. The slimlights will for sure offer up no issues.

SirGCal - Do you have lights here? If so, which ones do you have?

Thanks for the pic. That PIAA looks great. I'm guessing the KC slim light will have similar dimensions. Maybe I'll go with that one.

Thanks again.

Thanks

Yea the slims are more like these. But the standard lights SHOULD fit up there also.. Espically on the more common standard brackets (they have a little more room).

Both will fit with no problems. I have the full size KC Titanium Daylighters and my brother has the slim sized.

Running Slimlights as well on War brackets and they work great.

One thing though I have noticed, depending on year/brackets. Some of the Windshield tabs interfere with the radio Antenna.

I know my War tabs and slim lights work fine, but I ran into a guy running a 03 Rubi like mine with Slimlights on the window not sure tab he used but he had to bend his antenna around the lights.

say... hu?

How is the light in the way for putting on the mirror? And espically, how for one side only?!? (doesn't make sence to me...) My mirror mount isn't anywhere close to the light... I don't see what your having an issue with...

As for the antenna issue, just zip tie it and use a small piece of rubber tubing or silicone to hold it still to the light. It's fine....

I am aware of how to fix the antenna, it is still annoying though.
As for the mirror. I have quick disconnect mirrors that mount to the side of the windsheild bracket.

On the passenger side this mirror is meant to be looked at through the windsheild not through the side window. In mounts in the same space that the light resides.
The drivers side mounts as any other mirror would.

That's what mine want's too (as well as me) but we still rent. (Houses in Austin are SO REDICULIOUSLY priced that I'm suprised anyone can afford one...)

But the PIAA 520 SMR's weren't too bad... I paid I think only about $200/pair... Not horrible as far as lighting goes... (I could easily go higher... Well, I could easily FIND more expensive anyhow... ) But yea you can get some other models much cheaper... I think the KC's might even be half that...
