My TJ is black but I've thought about putting the hood star on. I remember having a toy MB as a kid and it had a star, I just figured all Jeeps did.. now it seems like something is missing Might get a stencil and paint it, though, I'd want it closer to the windshield, over the footman loop.. plus it needs the sectioned circle I saw on some old museum Jeeps when I visited Normandy. Eye candy on a Jeep is a bit odd, I guess, but fun

I'll never sell mine either!!!
I get people all the time staring, thumbs-up at stop lights, looking around it while I am in a store or restaurant looking out the window.... Its crazy... i also get air horns or waves from the national guard when they are moving hummers or trucks on the highway....

Get the stickers off ebay - lots of people making them, I paid $30 for my set....

Veterans can't get enough of my Jeep. I get stopped at gas stations, parking lots, even red lights.
I'm looking into forming a Willys Editon Owners Group or club. I plan on contacting DC and getting a list of VINS for the Willys Ed.'s if their available and will release them to me. That way everyone could number theirs "#1 of 1000" or "#345 of 1000" etc. You get the idea. Let me know if anyone is interested!

Without the stickers it has a clean look. but adding them will really complete the Willys feel. just be careful when buying your stickers. alot of cheap ones being sold on ebay happen to be the wrong size and font. I bought Mopar just to be safe, though it costs a bit more. around 80 bucks if i remember right.
You get what you pay for!

Would I count? Mine isnt an official Willys. Mine is the 24x "special edition" package - which is all the Willys stuff, except it had the Ecco wheels....

Might need 2 owners groups - the 24x club and the 25x club.....

I'd like to be in on a Willys owners club. I've got to order the rest of my stickers, right now I've only got the "Fuel" sticker over the fuel fill.I guess the previous owner wasn't so into the stuff.
I'm sure the reason I got this Jeep is because I'm a veteran and I just had to have another green war wagon.

This is the closest picture I had of the Sticker on the hood.
http://www.jeepforum.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=9023&c=4&userid=89458

When you order them from Your Jeep dealer you can't mess them up. They come with extra material that lines up the Star on the hood by lining up the two little notches on the stickers with the loop in the middle.

The decals on the side of the hood also have extra material that allows you to line them up with the edge of the hood for perfect placement.

I had stated earlier that I was just toying with the idea of selling my Willys. I really like it better than my other toys that I have listed on Craig's list now. Check them out!

You did the right thing selling your other toys first. IMO the willys ed TJ has some serious mojo. Yours looks great, BTW

Was your a Willys from the factory until the dealer made changes? If that's the case I think it's official. It all comes down the the VIN list if we can get a copy.

Nope. I originally thought it was - then through research - mine is a 24X - special edition. It is all willys except the wheels. I have the green top, dark tint plastic windows, green flares, green rubicon rock guards, subwoofer stereo, cruise, 4.0, 3.73s, camo seats, fog lamps....

But the Willys was a 25X package. It could get real confusing to you since they are so close.... just the green steel wheels made the difference.

What confused me was the first one I looked at WAS a Willys - I saw it on the sticker. Then i noticed that one had the manual trans. Since the wife wanted to drive it too - I needed and auto. they were sitting together and couldnt tell the difference - other then the wheels.

So - I guess i am out of the club....

If I still had my wheels, I'd give them to you! My vote says close enough for me! A Willys is a Willys unless you made a Willysclone - which you didn't. Other responses???

Dave Lesick, of Daveys Jeeps, has a totalled Willys Ed. he is parting out. He quoted me at $45 per wheel.
He also has a salvaged title Willys Edition that is repairable if anyone is interested

http://www.daveysjeeps.com

I'm still not convinced. The Moss Green pearl coat was supposed to be exclusive to Willys Edition TJ's. So simple logic says if your 2005 Jeep Wrangler has this paint from the factory, it is in fact a Willys Ed. I guess the sure way to know is if we get our hands on the VIN list of Willys produced. I assume the numbers are consecutive, so if they just give me the first and last we'll be in good shape.

UPDATE: Chrysler won't give us bunk!
