will this setup work?

I've got a 2001 Wrangler. I want to put on 32x11.5s on 15x8 rims with 4.0 backspacing. Also 1.25 inch spacers. In order to get it inspected the tires can't stick out past the fender flares at all so I was thinking about going with 6 inch fender flares. Would this setup work?

Any input would be helpful.,,

It'll be about 4-5" wider per side to the outside tread and you'll be putting 3" wider flares on it.

I am so glad you are asking about this, there are too many jeepers that overlook wheel spacing and the jeep looks funny because of it.

my setup:

AR FUEL 3216865
size 16x8
bolt 5/4.5
offset +12mm
Backspacing 5"

Mastercraft courser AT2 265/75R16

They just peak out from the stock 2001 sport flares.

your backspacing is 1" less so therefore tires stick out 1 inch more then mine, plus the 1.25 spacers, so ~2.25" past stock flares
keep in mind tire width though. I am not too sure of the metric to std conversion on this model of tire, but i can tell you i only have a little rubbing on the front coil perch at full flex and turning, disconnected.
Flares that stick out farther then the tires looks silly to me. (most stock JK's have this issue)

Also, you may want to ditch the spacers and look for stock Sahara flares, they are about 1.25 inches wider then others if i am not mistaken.

It'll work with a 1" BL.

BL wont affect how far the tires stick out from the sides of the jeep

no, but it'll keep him from rubbing the fenders.

to the OP: 4.0 backspacing is plenty, no need for 1.25" wheel spacers, which will unnecessarily stress your unit bearings and ball joints.

Backspace is less and the wheels are wider than stock so the outside edge shifts that much more. plus the tires are about 3" wider than stock.

Op, forget the wheel spacers.

after doing much math...

6" flares would line up pretty damn close.
I think the 6" flares look a bit odd but its not always about looks.

Your Other option, Sahara/rubi flares and no spacers, will also land you just about even. (or 1/4 inch past flares if your counting).

The tires will be fine width wise without spacers. I just barely rub on the perches (full flex and steer) but you would have an extra .5 inches of space (+1" on backspacing -.5" because of wider tire).

also, 1" BL is not relay enough for 32's if you wheel often, they fit. but not disco'd at full flex.

I am stepping up to 33's with my 2" lift, but only because i don't wheel much.

Width of my tires are 10.5 vs the 11.5
