cause axel swaps are so cool, fixing a leaking seal is not impressive.

edit: I re-read and his axel is bent.... so a new one is probably in order. Like everyone else said, find one from a xj/zj/tj with the same gear ratio and swap it in.

^I wouldn't listen to what I say. I don't know what I'm talking about. Please use the search feature.

I would buy a complete axle ready to bolt in.

Find out what gear ratio you have and I'll find you an axle.

All interesting posts. I have a 2000 Wrangler with what I have been told has 3:07 gears since it is a 5 speed that has a bent front axle tube. So I'm guessing I will need to change out the ring / pinion & axles if I swap. But do we know what year Grand Cherokee D30 is supposed to be a correct housing for the 2000 Wrangler?

I'm pretty sure my 99 wj has a d44 front and rear it's a limited with the v8 in it but I was wondering if the front axle would bolt up to my tj

Whatever it is I don't think it is bolt up. TJ and XJ fronts (and maybe ZJ depending on who you ask) are bolt up.

No wj came with a 44 front. D30 front and 44a rear unless something was swapped aftermarket. No matter what you have, it won't just bolt up to a tj

While the zj d30 will bolt in, they only came with 3.55 and 3.73 gearing

A front Dana 30 looks enough like a Dana 44 that it fools a lot of people. Your WJ came from the factory with a Dana 30 up front.

Getting Savvy...

When you have a choice, buy American.
