Will 2.5L engine from 98 Cherokee fit 98 Wrangler

2.5L engine is shot in my 1998 Wrangler. I have access to a 2.5L engine in a 1998 Cherokee. They are both Manual transmission. Will this engine be a direct fit. Can my computer and wiring be used?

I can't say for sure as I'm not familiar with the 2.5, but if you have the fan shroud, air intake, exhaust, and all the other peripherals for your Wrangler, then it shouldn't be a big issue. You're basically swapping out the long blocks, and the computer shouldn't know what engine is in there. Theoretically, it should work just fine.

Yep, as long as you're only using the block, you're fine.

OK, good. I was quite sure it would bolt right up to the bell housing, but wasn't sure about the motor mounts, etc.
