Why seat belts are your friend.
I NEVER let anyone ride in my Jeep without wearing a seat belt.My reasons are mostly because I know what will happen in a crash and I will be sued. Here's proof of why to "make" people wear them.Pass this on to your non seat belt wearing friends.I know this isn't tech, but is much needed for Jeep folks with teenagers.DON'T delete or move.Thanks.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks . Roll bars are over rated for high speed crashes.

Anyone in my rig always wears a belt, but sure makes me want to move my cage up on the list.

WOW! Excellent thread subject. What happened to that Jeep? I've been an absolute seatbelt believer since I first heard of them in 60-61. At the ripe old age of 15, I made my dad install seatbelts into his brand-new '62 Oldsmobile Starfire before we took it on a family trip from California to Texas.
Tell us more, what happened! ![]()

Looks like it was hit or hit something and flipped. In a wreck like that you really do need seatbelts, unless you want to join a frequent flier club. I'm speaking from experiance.
So anyways, what happened?

Shows the need to upgrade the roll cage! I wanted to point out the speaker box thats in the front seat now. If you have a speaker box, or gear/tool boxes make sure the are properly secured. I have responded to a number of crashes where the person could have survived the crash, but the huge speaker box or other objects beat them to death in the roll over.

Good thread Boogie, my girlfriend used to be the rebel against authority/parents type and never bothered with seatbelts much mostly because of that. That is until she was driving her dad's Jeep a few years ago and she happened to be wearing her belt and it saved her life in a head on crash totalling the Jeep, now shes not so irresponsible with things like that (thank god).
Side note, I'm impressed how well the armor held up, cant say the same for the wicked sweet tube bumper though ![]() |
