Why does my cupholder boil water and mom's doesn't?

Okay so my cupholder doesn't really make water boil, but I'm pretty sure it could lol but what can I put between the tub and the center console to prevent heat? I will say she has a body lift and I have a tummy tuck, so that might have something to do with it lol

So you did a mod that decreases airflow over hot things under jeep and moved those hot things closer to tub floor and she did a mod that allows for greater airflow over those hot things and moves the tub floor farther away and you don't understand the different results?

Live is always good for a laugh. I do give him some slack, since he was shot in the face.

Since the center console is hollow, you can unbolt it and stuff the inside with house insulation. You can fill the insulation around the shifters and levers as well.

Cause she's way cooler? Go to Lowe's, get the garage door insulation that looks like bubble wrap with foil over it. Also get some foil tape, like the super sticky crap for metal ducting. Put it down like dynamat. Make sure to use acetone or denatured alcohol to prep the floor so the tape will stick. Put 2 layers down close to the tunnel. Reinstall carpet. Or use this stuff...

They also make it in 48"x6ft for 19.99

Whem I removed my carpet, my cup holders no longer kept my beverage cold. Took out console and used that expanding insulation under the cup holders. problem solved.

BTW, kuddos to you for playing along and actually posting a pic of your mom. lol

Get some heat shield like the stuff that follows the exhaust system and put in where ever it seems best. Most likely, under the tub, above the running gear.

Just for giggles, I decided to insulate it. Went to an upholstery shop and they have me roll of this stuff for free. They said they put if between the floorboard and carpet in a car. So I cut it to size and really insulated the cup holder area. I used the spray on adhesive. If this doesn't work too well I'll take the console back off, and put a later of aluminum foil on-top of the insulation. Haven't taken the jeep out since I installed this but I will let y'all know how it does!
