Why the Centric rotors vs. United's or Wagner's

Was considering the EBC "Yellow stuff" front brake pads with new rotors. Most threads I researched have the EBC pads with the Centric rotors.
Is there an advantage to the Centric brake rotors vs. parts store rotors ie...Napa United, or Wagner rotors? Price seems bout the same.

Centric rotors = a well proven first quality product that stands up to what you can throw at it. Mrblaine did exhaustive testing of many pad and rotor combinations and pronounced that one as the best he found... which is more than a good enough recommendation for me.

And, where can they be purchased?

I know and trust the Centric Premium rotors. In this day and age with the big brake companies switching from North American suppliers to globally sourced cast products, it was too hard to keep up with who had what quality product on any given day.

I suspect that eventually, they will all have a premium line and if Centric ever backs off on their high quality, I will have to do some more testing.

Basically the recommendation comes from trying several brands, finding one that was good enough to satisfy Van's needs and then stopping. By no means does that mean there are not other quality rotors out there, I just don't know for certain how they compare to Centric.

If I couldn't get Centric, I would not hesitate to get NAPA's premium line.

Thanks for the explanation! Was hoping to buy locally, but live in timbuck2, so may have to get em via internet!

Hope they help. Put some PF's on bout 6 months ago. Am not impressed. Actually, jeep stops worse than with the old worn out pads!

That statement seems to imply that Centric Premium rotors are not "globally sourced." Is that true?

You've tried to pin crap on me for a very long time and as such, should know that I rarely imply anything. You read into it what you wish, but if they were sourcing their stuff from the now relatively non existent North American suppliers, I would have said so.

Centric is a big brake company and does indeed source globally and in fact their economy line is not worth buying. Thus why I only recommend their Premium line which I've seen arrive with various countries of origin including China and Taiwan.
