A 20# is a big tank. That is what I have also, not installed yet. I am still collecting parts and waiting to get it filled.

I will probably install it horizontally in the back of the jeep in the "trunk" area with a secured panel over it. I'll take the tank out to use it because I think it has to be vertical to flow right. (maybe this aint right tho...)

You can order a specific bracket from www.powertank.com that will fit a 20# bottle and that is really nice, but too expensive for me.

I will end up fabbing a bracket myself with quick disconnects to put it in/take it off easily.

I mounted mine to the back passenger side corner. I used the powertank bracket that came with the tank.

I have a subwoofer box that fills that whole back area behind the seat, so I'll have to come-up with another spot. I like the fact that you used your seat bracket for a tool box mount, I had a similar idea, but your's looks easier.

Okay,

will someone please explain to me what Co2 is for? I use it for paintball, and air cannons, and my uncle for beer making, but what else (jeep related)?

I would not get a 20lb tank. That is wayyyyy big, as said above. I have a 15lb tank. It was mounted on the inside on the back of the roll cage so that it was sitting on the wheel well behind the driver. My kids complained because you could not see out.

I have since mounted it on the back. It is easily removable.

The 15lb is really too big for a wrangler. I would go with a 10lb if I had it to do over again.

If you mount it on the outside, make sure it is tucked in close to the spare so that you do not hit it on anything, or take it off entirely for more extreme trails.

thanks for the pics paultyler, that 15# tank does look plenty big. I want to run air tools as well as fill-up tires - how many tires can you do before you have to re-fill the tank? I have 33's and I need 72psi for my fill-ups (12psi to 30psi x 4), plus a few of my friends don't have any air-up devises (I'm trying to get them into serious off-roading) so I'll be airing up their rigs too, I have a small 12v compressor that takes me 3 minutes per tire, I like the 30sec per tire time better

BTW, nice looking rig

If I recall correctly, I can fill 46 tires from 11 psi to 28 psi on a 15 LB tank. So that is like 11-12 trips. There is a chart here http://powertank.com/charts.specs

I also have a 15 pound take and wish I had gone with a 10 pound. I still think my 15 is massive what the amount of wheelin' I do.

Mine is mounted on the passenger side in the cargo area:

You can mount it at an angle but it must be upright before use. The CO2 is in a frozen liquid state. If the tank is at enough of an angle for the liquid to be at the neck of the bottle you get liquid CO2 out instead of gas.

Personally, I don't see anything wrong with getting a 20# tank if you can. Specially if you can get it for a good deal. If you can fit it in your Jeep, why not. You have the advantage of less trips to refill it. I mounted my 20# tank laying down on top of my insta trunk supported with a tank brace I got from a welding shop. Of course I have to take it out before I use it so its upright.

I can get a 20# tank a few dollars cheaper than a 15#, the salesman didn't know why, maybe supply/demand
