Wheel center caps

Put on Black Cragar's i got for x-mas. I don't really like the center caps you can get, so my question is.....can i just spray paint the rusty center area?

I believe you can, there's also some little trick out there somewhere about using the lid from a small tub of butter, and cutting it, then painting it black? I'll see if I can find it, hope you need 5 small tubs of butter

Edit: I can't seem to find the thread, just paint the hubs or get some cheapo center caps and paint them black

Take some 180 grit sandpaper and sand the centercaps. It doesn't take a lot to break the chrome. Then, paint them with some spray in bedliner spray. ($6 at wallyWorld) It looks good and is durable too.

I didn't like the chrome caps too much either, I painted my axles too.

My little brother left his centers off and just painted the rusty hub. It looks pretty good. Troy

Do the butter cup.

Notice the front wheel compared the open rear.

Use the little Country Crock bowls and trim the cap edge like the above link describes. They fit perfect and aren't noticeable.
