Registered User | you can get a 3" BL if you like. anything over 1" looks like a sac full of rectums, but hey, its your jeep, you can make it look as dumb as you want. __________________ Tech Write-Ups: SEARCH TUTORIAL Off-Road Tips and Techniques TJ Tech BOOT CAMP FAQ: Cold Air Intakes & K&N's What is a CV shaft and why do I want one? Web Wheeler Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Ellensburg/Maple Valley,Wa Posts: 1,240 | Anything over 1.25 is ugly as well as dangerous because it raises your COG and makes it easy to roll. Seeing as you already have a BB and you don't seem to want an entire suspension lift just get the jks 1.25 BL and call it good. __________________ Quote:

Registered User Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: Southeast Michigan/Central Michigan Posts: 43 | Save your money.....any BL is ugly as hell. Lift if right with a suspension lift. If money is an issue, start with a cheaper brand suspension lift and work your way up. Its way more worth it for off-roading and its less dangerous. __________________ 2000 TJ 4.0, Auto, 4" RC lift, 33x12.5 Mud Trac Mud Terrains (buying new tires, cannot make up my mind which ones!) Registered User | You've got to deal with the fan shroud and tcase linkage just like a 1". Look at pictures of a 2" lift and if you want one get one. i personalyl don't like anything over a 1", but it's your Jeep. __________________ 2005 X 6spd 2.5" RC lift with 31x10.5 BFG A/T. Like Father, Like Son | Since you have a 4 banger like me, you can do a 3" suspension lift on the cheap. I did it and i love it. You take front coils out of a ZJ and put them in the front your your jeep, and then move the front springs that were in the front of the wrangler in the rear of the wrangler. Thats it, get new shocks and your good to go. Writeups: http://7slotgrille.com/tech/zjtjlift/index.html results of the ZJ lift (on the tj) are in You can also check the build thread in my sig to check it out __________________ 1999 TJ Wrangler, 4 banger 5-spd Soft-top, full doors 31" BFG AT, 3" Lift 1954 CJ3B Willys Hurricane 4, 3-spd with Warn Overdrive, Snow-plow NGJC# 15 Low Output 4 cylinder Jeep Club Member #166 Build Thread Are You An Offroad Junkie Quote:

A body lift utilized "taller" bushings between the frame and body which required longer bolts, this allows for a greater moment about the point at which the bolts meet the frame in relation to the body increasing the chance of potentially catastrophic failure during an accident, not only creating more risk for you but causing a greater amount of damage to your Jeep. These bolts will also wear faster than those equipped from the factory over time. So, ideally a small body lift like the 1" and 1.25"s mentioned is a great way to gain clearance for larger tires while affecting the c.o.g. less than an equivalent increase in suspension lift. Although flat fenders, highline kits, etc. are even more so ideal. __________________ '99 SE: Rocking some serious 4 banger pride. 3/4" Spacer lift, Warn Steering Box Skid, Mopar Rocker Guards, Big Daddy Monster Tie Rod, JKS Quicker Disconnects, Savvy Offroad Gas Tank Skid Last edited by sailsurf7713 : 11-03-2008 at 12:45 AM. | |

Registered User | Here's one of my previous rides. 1" BL, 2.25" BB, 33x150 tires. ![]() That setup worked well for me. I personally don't care for anything above a 1" BL, but mainly for asthetics. I've never seen anyone busting body bolts off, but I guess it could happen. |
