I had an OME lift and shocks and wasnt pleased. I had high expectations due to OME's reputation. I took it off and put a RC 4" lift and I love it. It is a little stiffer than OME but in a good way. It feels more stable to me, not bouncy or rough at all. I would say it is better than stock and alot better than OME for half the price.

Loving my 2.5 lift with .75 spacers and a 1" BL/MML.

Ride is way better than stock springs with spacers.

The 2.2 shocks are excellent.

i like my RC 4 inch X series. at first it was a little Stiff, but as time went by it started to settle in. the only beef i have was with there install directions.. i think mine were only 2 pages for the whole lift. but that was about 6-7 months ago, who knows what RC has been up to since then. (i dont have the 2.2 shocks)

I have the 4 inch x series with the 2.2 shocks and the ride is great. its only been installed for a few days now and i already can see the improvement in ride. the instructions were lacking a little bit in some areas but they were still acceptable and i got the whole lift installed using them without and phone calls to RC. Not that they would mind because their customer service is top notch.

Just finished mine minutes ago. So far... love it. Got the 2.5 advertised (little more like 3" but I suppose it will sag a bit? Anyway.. the drive characteristics are fantastic! Far better than stock and way better than the Skyjacker BB I had on. At $299 you can't bet it! Pics to follow as soon as it stops raining!

Making the shock body half an inch to and inch shorter would make the ride much better and cause less harsh of ride with the jounce bumper smacking all the time.

The ride is not horrible, but is certainly not near stock.

The Jeep looks great. Did you get the new X-flex arms? What do you think about the kit?

Thanks man. Yea i have the new x-flex control arms and i cannot speak for them offroad (yet). The on road ride with my 4 inch kit seems close to stock. i absolutely love the kit and would suggest it to anyone looking for a 4 inch kit.

I have the 4" series II w/2.2. Rides a little stiffer (not broke in/ settled yet), but not bad at all.

I have an 04 Rubicon with RC Series II 4" suspension lift on it. It rides solid. Real solid. The shocks that RC uses are meant to make the rebound easier on your coil springs, not the compression. In lamens terms, the shocks are really easy to compress but difficult to extend.

Oh! And I wanted to add this: 98 Sahara, I asked the same question when I put my lift on. My buddy told me that all RC lifts will eventually sag anywhere from a half inch to 1 inch. He says the reason is something to do with foriegn metals that they used to make the aftermarket coil springs? Something along those lines.

Same here.....but I like it a lot none the less. Well worth the money so far. I have yet to wheel with it, but i'm thinkin it'll be a lot better than stock.

*If I wanted to upgrade to the 4" would you use the same shocks?

You can. The 2.5" lift is sold with Performance 2.2 shocks. The 4" Series II comes with RC Hydro 8000's, and the X Series comes with Nitro 9000's.

EDIT: To elaborate...You can use the 2.2's. There's actually a picture on the Rough Country site under the X Series lift that shows the 2.2's with the 4" X Series lift. I guess it's just not recommended?
