What year/model ax-15 will bolt into my 97 TJ

I have a 97 sport with a blown ax15 i am looking for a cheap bone yard replacement for a few months till i can afford a reman and need to know what will fit. Will the cherokee ax15s bolt in? how bout YJ? MJ? etc.


97 TJ Sport, 5 Speed. 2.5 RC Spring Lift, 1.5 BL. 33" Trxus MT.

any AX15 you find is going to be an AX15, and will work in your TJ. the only difference is the clutch slave setup. the YJs had the slave mounted internally, and the TJs have it mounted externally.

let me rephrase that... any AX15 from a Jeep will work. toyotas had AX15s, but they wont work.

Thanks for the reply. Was the tranny bolted up exclusively to the 4.0

The 95 YJ had an external clutch slave cylinder.
