What tire size is the best for 4.11 gear?

My 2002 Wrangler with 31" tires and 3.07 Dona 30 front / 35 back was in an accident that, according to dealer, damaged the transfer case, front suspension and front axle. My Wrangler is in China where JT parts are hard to find.

I am lucky enough to find a set of new complete front and rear axles with gears and brakes at very reasonable price, but they come with 4.11 gear. There is nothing else available in China right now and if order the axles from the U.S. through the dealer, it will cost nore than US$5K per axle, and it will take more than a month to get them.

Is 4.11 too low a gear for 31" tires? I use the jeep mostly for local and highway driving, very rarely go off road. Tires are much easier to get here, so I can buy larger tires to match the 4.11 gear. What is the best matching size for 4.11 gear?

I bought and brought to China a set of 2" budget boost 6 years ago, but never installed it. Road handling is important to me, so I need to know if larger tire and lift will make the jeep less stable at highway speed.

Also folks, the budget boost has been in storage for so long. Is it still good to use?

Thanks

the BB will be fine to install.

I dont see why the 4.11s would be too much for 31s, that is what Rubi's came with.
I would, however, suggest putting on the BB and getting some 32s. It will have a much better stance

Put it in. The BB will look pretty good on there. 31" tires will be perfect on there when it comes to power. I went to 4.10's when i was still on 31's and it felt like a race car.

you can easily run 33s on 4.11s i did for 2 years. but you can use 31s on 4.11s also, that is what rubicons come with stock. you would need the budget booster plus a 1" body lift to fit 33s though.

They'll be fine. I run a 4.11 and 32's (31.5, actually) and it's got more than enough pep for me.

I am right now and i don't plan on changing.

Still plenty of power on and off road.

The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon came with 4.11 gearing and 31" tires right from the factory, your Jeep will be fine with that combination.

Wow, so quick! Thanks!

In that case, I will get the axles tomorrow. I will put in the BB and maybe 32" tire later.

One more question, the rear axle could be Dona 44, not so sure at this moment because the seller cannot tell. If it is Dona 44, will it still a direct bolt on?

If it is a Dana 44 out of a Wrangler TJ, then yes it is a direct bolt-in.
