my wife and i are looking into buying a camper, wanted to see what size people are towing and how easily they pull it with there jeep. we are looking at ultra light campers between 16-18 feet. first choice so far is a forest river r-pod.

go hard or go home!!
I tow the nearly the smallest pop-up tent trailer I could find (Fleetwood Taos) behind my TJ and fully loaded, it might weigh 1800-1900 lbs, if that much. Even though it has electric brakes, I wouldn't want to tow anything any bigger or heavier than that. Pay attention to the Wrangler's 2,000 max safe tow limit, that's a very realistic max safe tow weight due to the Wrangler's very short wheelbase.
i agree with jerry...i used to pull a 18foot pop up camper easly but mines an LJ so i can pull 3500...but i always go well over that! sometimes as much as 6000pound trailers!
